Had this Nephilim au backstory thing that @fxngelic and I used to explore, with less human, and more horse-like looks. In us revisiting this NYH AU, I have decidedly designed another unmasked concept for Death. I always had the notion that heās more demon than angel, by Nephilim standard. Definitely more archaic in design. I think Iām going to be using this look for him when heās not a horseman. I hcād that he and the other horsemen had names once, before they were assigned their labels for apocalypse management. @fxngelic and I named all of them, and I named Death āDagharedā (pronounced Day-guard)
I have the other three sketched out, and @fxngelic has completed War's NYH concept! UvU That leaves the twins, Strife and Fury whom, I should have completed asap!
tried to draw periphes in the darksiders art style, and 5 hours later i realize it doesn't even look like darksiders at all, but i still like it so it's ok
.į itās really hard for him to say those three wordsā¦ though he knows in his heart what he feels, what he tries to bury deep down and cast aside ā almost clawing at his chest until itās nothing but shedded skin and muscle ā he knows what he feels. And it scares him
.į the way he can stare into your eyes with this stern, aware state that is calculating and almost viper-like in nature is beyond amazing and terrifying. Your resolve always weakens when you meet his gaze; yes it is that gut wrenching level of intensity
.į at first he wants you to see him as the monster he is to scare you away but gradually over time, he becomes scared of letting you see the monster
.į he is Death - enemies would really think twice before thinking of messing with you. Itās over for any involved who dare try
.į prefers to have you to himself, in seclusion. Heāll make a home thatās safe for you
.į enjoys a witty back and forth battle of sass when heās in the mood for it, but on the off chance heās in an unsavoury moodā¦ itās best to watch yourself
.į he has a patience that is best not tested with
.į his skin is cold, very well near too cold to touch, but beneath it there is a flow of ever faint heat but it almost thrums in dull pulses; his heartbeat is there yet it is barely heard
.į Despair is quite the fearsome menace. It takes AGES for this horse to even tolerate you without the firm ire of his rider barking at him to behave himself and to keep him from nipping at you
.į Dust is more easier to get along with in the beginning, so long as you have some carrion and gentle pats in store, heāll warm up to you quickly
.į good luck getting this guy a regular wash schedule. He takes an entire bottle of shampoo and conditioner to get his hair clean of grease and grime
.į holds you very close and pretty tightly as you sleep. Does he sleep? Nah, ever rarely. Heās gotta make sure youāre protected

.į the mask stays on, there is no āifsā or ābutsā. Only exception is that the lights are out and the cover of darkness conceals his face
