The Jasad Heir by Sara Hashem
One For My Enemy by Olivie Blake
I read the Jasad heir last year. And again this year. I'm halfway through the Jasad crown. And let me tell you. Sara Hashem is doing enemies to lovers RIGHT. I made a post months ago about how Rachel Gillig does a good job of showing and not telling and Sara Hashem takes the spot next to Rachel Gillig for that skill. Most of the time these days; it's enemies to insta love (lust more often than not) and Sara Hashem is making filling my heart with the yearning and tiny observations that Slyvia (Essiya) and Arin make about each other.
Sara Hashem. I love you.
no thoughts head empty except for THAT moment in the jasad heir when arin of nizahl told sylvia to run away and be free while HOLDING HER TO HIS CHEST after she broke down in front of him despite how long he'd been waiting to catch the jasadis because “What appeal can reason have in the face of your tears?” GOOD GOD I CAN'T HANDLE IT
Arin Heir of Nizhal embodies this
I need to find more books where someone like Eris Vanserra is the lead
Holly Black fans how do y’all feel about The Charlatan Duology?
Reading the poppy war and realising that stressing over academics and academic rivals was a privilege for the characters before all of the certainty was stripped away from their lives by the war.
my top 1 fav book genre will always be political fantasy books they’re so captivating I love them

You know what, I don't think Rhys was close to his sister at all.
She's this tragic character whose death impacted him so much... but what's her name? What was her personality like? Come to think of it, I don't think any of the I.C ever mentioned interacting with his sister at all, and surely if they had known her in the centurelies that they've known Rhys, they'd be monologuing about her sad sad death to Feyre and shoving in our faces how truly evil the Spring Court was for killing her every other page.
But... nothing??
SJM mentions him having a sister with this horrible death but there’s barely mention of her. Not even a name. Both of his parents are mentioned more often in comparison. The story even includes belongings left behind from his mother so Feyre (and by extension us readers) can connect to a ghost. But as for his sister? Nada. Crickets.
literally foaming at the mouth at this absurdly beautiful cover art
Kayes wings… cardans side eye… heather looking adoable… Taryn looking conflicted… madoc looking scrumptious
and is that my little icon lutie loo?!? what chaos has she brought upon Kaye and roiben now lmao enough to fuck up the entire high court apparently
We are finally gonna see what happened during Jude’s kidnapping omg… “Cardan realizes what he most desires” omg stfu we gonna get a Cardan pov of him realizing he wants Jude as his queen
PLUS madoc inthe mortal world LMAOO i cannot wait to see those illustrations and hopefully madoc x ori or madoc x eva context PLS
AND FINALLY I’ve been dying for more Taryn and Locke context SOO BADLY fuck i cannot wait to see why she was taking the faerie fruit and how he treated her and hopefully when she realizes she gotta kill that mf
There’s still 2 stories besides the ones announced and i personally think they’re gonna focus on Kaye and roiben and also heather and vivi!!
I’m so happy guys this saved me fr
This is the best news of my life
Do we ever know how young Rhysands sister was when she died? I don’t remember much from when she was first mentioned (not that we’re given much to work with tbh) but does Rhysand say she was a child when she was killed or was she older? I do wonder about her age cause if Mor was betrothed to Eris then I guess she was much younger. Usually a princess from the direct line would be betrothed to a prince of her ranking. So I guess she’s either much younger or maybe she wasn’t that much younger and the plan was to marry Mor to Eris and maybe Rhysands sister to a son of spring 👀👀👀 that’s always been my headcanon. But it’s SJM she’s not planning on anyone thinking about this.
I’m also curious about the dynamic between Rhysand and his sister because I wonder if he sees “what could have been” when he sees he Archeron sisters together. When he gives Nesta the third degree for not being a “proper” older sibling is it him projecting since he “failed” to protect his younger sister? No one really talks about his sister either when you think about it

“I reincarnated into the villainess” power fantasy webtoons but I make it Mel Medarda and Sevika yuri
“The Fae were not the first masters of this world. According to our oldest legends, most now forgotten, we were created by beings who were near-gods—and monsters. The Daglan. They ruled for millennia, and enslaved us and the humans. They were petty and cruel and drank the magic of the land like wine.”
so basically the Asteri from CCity (this is riceman talking)
sarah j maas heard that people were going “yo isn’t it fucked up that we’re supposed to empathize with the people who enslaved humans” and rushed to cover up her tracks by *checks notes* writing another poorly thought-out and insensitive backstory using slavery as an edgy background decoration.
I still think that it is actually worse to have the Fae free themselves from slavery only to turn around and IMMEDIATELY enslave the humans. So if sjm included this to make the Fae look better, that certainly failed. Also, it doesn’t make sense with the pre-established worldbuilding of “the world always belonged to the Fae”, but at this point, that’s the smallest problem.
The palace of Eros has a summary that lulls you into the mood for sweet little Sapphic romantasy and then the first 40 pages grab you by the shoulders and says "let's talk about the historical plight of women being sold into marriage and the horrors of patriarchy which systematically snuffs the life from them and makes it feel like their bodies aren't their own"
