I have lived in Cape Town for 93% of my life and this is the worst storm that I can remember. Its still autumn 🍂 so we're not meant to have the severe weather yet. This is abnormal for the former Cape of Storms.
People have died and been injured due to the gale force winds, flooding, trees falling onto buildings/moving vehicles. I've heard of at least three deaths in my suburb.
The photos show the damage around our house after 3 hours. We are safe- but so many have lost their shelter.

We are poor and unemployed, all adults have some chronic condition, chronic pain and we live constantly exposed to mold, rust and other issues the house has. The landlord does jackshit but sure comes to collect rent every now and then.
To top it off i have been getting harrassed by racist unkind people here, making me suicidal.

Campaign Story: Starting at 42,000 USD (raised in the last war), Voices of the Unseen begins again.... Following the devastating events of 1 March, 2026, and the subsequent heavy bombardment of Beirut’s southern suburbs and South Lebanon in the early hours of 2 March, we are witnessing a terrifyingly familiar cycle of violence. At least 31 people have been martyred and 149 wounded in just the last few hours. Thousands more fleeing their homes under new evacuation orders. The recent escalation has pushed Lebanon back to the brink of a full scale war.
In 2024, we saw firsthand the systemic failure of the state. As bombs fell, the state offered no safety net for those most vulnerable:
Migrant Workers: Still trapped under the Kafala system a form of modern day slavery, many are being abandoned by employers fleeing the violence, left without papers or safe passage.
Syrian Refugees: Already displaced by over a decade of war, we are once again facing the trauma of being uprooted with nowhere left to run.
Palestinians: Facing an ongoing struggle for survival as the violence in Lebanon mirrors the aggression they have endured for 78 years.
Marginalised Lebanese: Families in the South, Bekaa, and Beirut are losing their livelihoods and homes, watching their society be torn apart once more.
When the state failed, organisers from these communities built critical safety nets. This was done with your help. Last year, we raised $42,000 (USD) that went directly to community organisers from these communities. Now, we must do it again. Our current efforts are being channelled through a core group of trusted community groups: Tres Marias, Reman, Syrian Eyes and DoWAN. We are building community led solutions to a systemic collapse. We are calling for immediate financial and in kind donations to support emergency housing, healthcare access and basic survival needs.

The cost of a one-way flight ticket for two people is $1096.17 dollars.
If we wanted to migrate in a "tourist way/go to live way" we would need would $10.537 dollars or € 9.760,95 euros aprox to pay all the documents (including the passaport), the bank money I need to have to prove I deserve to migrate, the tickets, rent money I have to show, and all that. So I'm just hoping to have the money for the tickets only and not be trafficked in the process of leaving or killed before that.
Please, we need to migrate so help us to not die. This is no longer asking money to eat, this now is to not be tortured and disappeared. We can speak and read english even if not perfectly. If you know a country that allow political refugees and put less trouble to migrants, please comment.
I open a mail box so people that prefer to donate goods (like soap, shampoo, menstrual pads, detergent, tablets to keep water clean, heat patches for winter, N95 masks or similars, etc) can sent it in place of money, but (sadly) it can't be food because I have to pay to the border $39.13 for 1 kg to 500 kg of any food I could try to enter the country. I still don't know what to do about that because I have coeliac disease and flour is essential for survival. I have some rice flour, but I can’t make bread with it or survive on it.

In In August 2024, I was without electricity, phone or internet because of really bad storms with lots of lightning, rain and strong winds. We even have floods. On 25 May 2025, we had our first tornado in the south of the country. This has never happened before. Then spring and summer came and bc all caught fire throughout different regions a number of times. There were fires every week for months. Almost every day somewhere in the country.
To make things worst? We still live under the dictatorship constitution made during Pinochet's dictatorship installed by USA/The West, and its politicians and families, whom own everything here and pay the owners of internet to have bots, make fake news, terror campaings, etc ploted to make the country sink and put a pinochetist nazi as president: josé antonio kast.
The war of USA (operation condor) against South America lead to the new president of Chile be a chilean german pinochetist nazi (his father a nazi liutenant that used the ratlines with the help of the Vatican to escape after exterminating ppl all over europe, for example in germany, italy, france and soviet union) and is proud of his nazi family which also helped to exterminate chileans and anyone in Chile during Pinochet's dictatorship. He even is memeber of a fundation dedicated to the creator of the dictatorship constitution, pinochetist Jaime Guzman whom Kast loves deeply since his youth. Between his people there are torturers, nazis and neo nazis, a pinochetist nephew of a german pedo christian cultist (check Colonia Dignidad among many other cults), families of german colonialists that made genocide of natives at the south of Chile and Argentina between XIX and XX century, and still kill them, they have slaves, are pedos, etc. All upper class from european background, upper class from Chile, as well the cops, agents, and military. Kast was a piece of shit since childhood, being part of the chilean version of the nazi youth and helped Pinochet, and this past decade helped to put Bolsonaro and Milei in power in Brazil and Argentina, as well all over the world.
He hates and wants to enslave South America, poc, women, children, workers, etc anyone that is not like him. He is proud of his nazi family and their work helping the Pinochet Dictatorship. He is a proud pinochetist and visits torturers that are in prison for crimes against humanity as well have such criminals among his people which, among many things, put rats inside the vaginas of women, trained dogs to rape people, opened mothers to steal the babies from their wombs, forced fathers to rape their daugthers, made kids eat shit with torns and trow their bodies all over the country, mutilated people and torture them in ways so monstrous that no one in the world is told so you all can keep living without fighting them.
My couple and I need to fly the country. We survived the ex president Piñera tortures and genocide in 2019/2020, we will not survive another extermination again.
We still unemployed even when we tried everything. They are closing all cultural areas and institutions (museums, schools, workshops, galleries, libraries, sites of memory that teach and keep the testimonies and work of resistance against dictatorship, institutions to find the tortured and dissappeared, etc), seeking to also eliminate our area of specialisation, including the teaching of how to read. I'm very gaunt, and in all honestly I can no longer work because of my disability. I'm even losing my hair and growing grayhair. Now getting a job in our areas is asking to be tortured and killed. We lost everything we lived for.
My health is getting even worst. Chronic pain, chronic fatigue, long covid, celiac disease and lactose intolerance. Being autistic and having c-PTSD as well depression and fibromyalgia doesn't help and the violence never ends.
As far as I'm concerned, I've been on my own all my life (abusive family, my father tried to kill my mother, brothers criminals and abusers, now I'm alone and homeless bc I left the storage room in which i was living). My only support is my couple that also helps me as a caregiver and takes care of an old abusive cultist mother which pay the basic bills. My couple is the only family I have. This means having less money bc i make the bills bigger and the pinochetist nazi is gonna eliminate the money that elderly people are pay by the state for being a mother and a widow which is the money that pays for food and water and a roof over our heads. The father has already died. The neighbours are violent.
My couple fears that we end up in the streets, homeless. I fear that we will die under the dictatorship of Kast bc that's what what this ppl do, specially his family and all the other upper class families. The neighbours are gonna snitch on us. Their mother told a family of cops and agents (primal agents of dictatorship here) that she is a communist even when she is not (she an iliterate cultish evangelical with far right ideas) so we have a target in the face thanks to that. In the last big dictatorship, people (including kids and teens) were taken from their houses and jobs (specially students, univeritaries, teachers and culture workers, for example which is all our labels basically) and most never returned, being disappeared. Others were tortured so much that they died or ended up disabled and traumatized for life.

According to the Covington Police Department, Murry Foust was last seen on April 27, captured on surveillance footage in the city’s Latonia neighborhood walking down a sidewalk wearing a yellow backpack. Friends of the student told local ABC affiliate WCPO that Foust was planning to go to class but left their phone at home. The backpack was later found on campus, per WCPO. Charlie King, a close friend of Foust’s, noted in a Facebook post that Foust’s car was found a block from their apartment in Latonia.
The CPD and most media sources currently refer to Foust using they/them pronouns. In response to a request for comment from Them seeking clarity on how Foust identified, an NKU spokesperson referred to social media posts made by friends of the student.
Those posts note Foust is a trans man early in his transition who uses he/they pronouns. (In the interest of facilitating the search, we will mention here that Foust’s legal name is Alexis.)
“I encourage people to respect that,” King wrote in a follow-up to his initial post, referring to Foust’s he/they pronouns. “I frankly don’t really give a shit what you insist on calling him though; I care that he is found and people are looking out for them.”

Hey everyone, Murry’s body was found yesterday (5/24/26) in a wooded area in Wilder, Kentucky, not far from NKU. At this point in time, there’s no reason to suspect foul play. This is likely another tragic case of a college student overwhelmed by the stress of finals week on top of the state of the world and preexisting mental health conditions. There’s been a lot of speculation in the local lgbt community about hate crimes, but let’s all be respectful and realistic here.
At least one Cincy trans group is offering emotional support at this time for people dealing with grief over this loss. While I never personally met Murry, he was known in the Cincy night life scene and known to my friends. I know talking about this is revealing my location a bit, but I couldn’t ignore this post.

I write to you today with a heavy heart, burdened by fear and weariness, because our suffering is far from over.
The war may have subsided in the eyes of the world, but it still lives with us every day. We still wake up to the sounds of shelling, fear, and anxiety, and we still live amidst a harsh post-war crisis, without safety or stability.
Life has become indescribably difficult.
The prices of food, medicine, and basic necessities have skyrocketed, and even the simplest things that were once commonplace are now a dream for us. There are days we spend thinking only about how we will secure food, or how we will manage to survive another day.
Sometimes I feel ashamed to repeatedly ask for help, but circumstances are beyond our control, and after God, we have no one but your compassionate hearts.
If you are able, please consider supporting me monthly, even with a small amount. A monthly donation gives us something we have long missed: a sense of security and the knowledge that we will not be suddenly left alone in the midst of this pain.
