Some tips for those staying home to weather the storm [note: not everyone can afford to leave, or has anywhere to go to escape the storm. not everyone who stays lacks common sense, they just don’t have the funds, the transportation [disabled, no car, etc.], or family + friends to go anywhere else]:
Take a shower now, then fill your tub with water. You might need that water later to flush your toilet.
Make sure you’ve got an axe or something like it, because if you live in a low-lying area and the flood waters get into your house, you might end up needing to bust a hole in your roof to get out.
DO NOT SWIM IN FLOOD WATER. Flood waters carry sewage, diseases, toxins, and things like water moccasins, brown recluse spiders, floating ant beds, and more. It is not a pool.
Make sure you have extra batteries to power all of the things. Radios, flashlights, etc.
Make sure all of your devices are charged, and purchase charger packs if possible. There’s a high chance that we all lose power, and it could be out for weeks. Make sure your devices are able to last you for as long as possible.
Make sure you’ve filled your gas tank.
If you live in a low-lying area, make sure all important things like legal documents, photographs, and electronics are up high. If you live in a two story, go ahead and put them up there.
Don’t wait to evacuate until the last minute. If they say you need to leave, then LEAVE. If they haven’t, decide RIGHT NOW whether to stay or not. You don’t want to be caught out in the streets when they start to flood. Because they WILL flood.
A lot of hurricane/tropical storm/flash flood-related deaths happen after the storm has passed. People try to venture out into the waters and end up drowning. Make sure you have everything you need so you don’t have to leave your house for a few days. It will NOT be safe.

stay safe y'alls
my heart
I’m currently in a state of healing. Some days it means waking up and working out, others it’s drinking tea while sitting in the sun and reading, some it’s sleeping in late, others it’s a mix of all 3. The point is I’m healing and I will be ok. We all will be ok.
I recently stopped following someone for saying that Jim & Pam and Ben & Leslie were basically “too happy and predictable to be enjoyed.” I don’t need that kind of mentality in my life. I just don’t.
it bothers me how little people are aware of what boundaries are and why they are important. that people think real love or real intimacy means no boundaries, when for me, respecting another person’s autonomy is a part of a healthy loving relationship. being smothered in a relationship, assuming all access all the time, disregarding another person’s personal space or need for time apart, not respecting privacy or adjusting behavior to make sure the other person isn’t uncomfortable is disgusting to me.
I find it so funny that Beyoncé is so universally loved yet struggles to sell but Taylor swift is so universally hated and nobody can match her sales
I.. truly dont care for all this taylor drama i’ve been seeing on my dash but how are y’all gonna bring up Beyoncé, a black woman, and compare her sales to Taylor Swift? Beyonce’s self-entitled was the fastest selling album to reach number on iTunes when it dropped and became her 5th consecutive number 1 album on Billboard’s 200, all without any type of promo whatsoever. Lemonade consisted of multiple genre’s of music, debuted at #1, making it her 6th consecutive #1 album, and was critically acclaimed. The Formation World Tour banked $256 MILLION from 49 sold out shows. Is that truly what you consider struggling to sell? Also “universally loved” as if Beyoncé doesn’t have angry racists down her throat every time she does anything as simple as breathe, give birth to her twins or release a song thats meant to empower black women? Please do us all a favour and keep Beyoncé’s name out of all of this when it has 0 to do with her, not to mention taylor being “universally hated” isn’t anything to be proud of. Y’all truly comparing a black woman to a white man now? lmao? As if the industry is working the same for both of them huh?
Actual, tangible proof that Taylor Swift fans are pseudo feminist fuckwads who make shit up to suit their needs of kissing the musty ass of Taylor and simultaneously shitting on black artists.
