Coach Hella
Okay, that may be a “worn out” title to use when your post is associated to Coachella but why not? I have 0 workload right now so I have nothing much to do and since we had a little adventure 2 weeks ago then why not blog about it.
I won’t try to educate you guys what Coachella is (probably y’all know what it is but just makin’ sure) because I’m the last person you’ll see in such event. Aside from the fact that it will take an overseas flight to go there, I’m not really a fan of music festivals. However, this was the theme that our clique agreed to wear for a roadtrip/foodtrip/birthday getaway celebration of our friend in Tagaytay. Well, it’s my fault anyway. I was the one who suggested to one-up our style for the event just for fun and since the people I will be with have always been fashion forward people.
I kind of had a hard time preparing what will I wear because I really want to take advantage of the opportunity to dress up and this theme is “hella” challengine because it’s not my style. But still, I was up for the challenge. So I came up with this.
I can’t believe I managed to put this outfit altogether. I asked helped from my main man/D12 brotha Ronnie for ideas and voila! We both brought this get up to life together. The “pineapple” hair was a last minute touch since I had no idea what to do with my hair. A friend commented that I looked like a bad ass biker on a vacation instead of someone going to Coachella. Haha. I couldn’t agree more but I think i was able to make the cut. What do you think?
What I’m Wearing: Busy Days tank top (SM Youth), denim jacket (thrift shop), summer shorts (Metro Market Market Dept. Store), banana high socks (Iconic socks), Black Sperry Cloud CVO Sneakers (Sperry), Round glasses and bracelets (St. Francis Square)
1ST STOP: Dreamland Arts and Crafts Cafe
After we ate this, I feel like I’m done for the day. I was so satisfied! First meal of the day was amazing plus listening to soothing music like Love Me Instead by Moira Dela Torre.
What We Ate: Beefy Veggie Nachos (P120), Quesadilla (P280), Cheesy Potato Wedges (P180), Honey Lemonade Pitcher (P200)
Excuse my oblate spheroid face. Hahaha. I want to be fat but not in this way. Must be the angle haha but oh well. Mandatory group photo!
2ND STOP: Sonya’s Garden
We just actually went there to buy Spanish Bread and Dark Chocolate Cookies but we chilled for a while and enjoyed the nature and surroundings.
3RD STOP: Lime and Basil Thai Restaurant
This is where we ate our lunch and where we stayed the longest for photoshoot. Hahaha. Great food! Man, I was so stuffed! Will definitely eat more Thai food!
What We Ate: Fresh Spring Rolls (P240), Tom Yum Goong (P390), Pad Thai (P350), Kaeng Kiew Wan Gai “Chicken Green Curry” (P350), Kor Moo Yang “Grilled Pork Belly” (P350)
You see, I overly prepared leading me to prepare a change outfit. Hahaha. For this one, I tried to pull off a statement piece I have been dying to try: the neckerchief). I looked like a modern day Katipunero or Hardinero though. Haha. I’m actually having second thoughts with this look. It feels like some of the colors didn’t match but oh well confidence is the key. Haha what.
What I’m Wearing: Bicycle button down (Illustrados), cream shorts (SM Dept. Store), brown slim belt (F&H), Gladiator mandals (Metro Market Market Dept. Store), black leather watch (Straightforward Clothing), wide brim hat (borrowed), glasses (bazaar), and bracelets (St. Francis Square)
Let me just introduce my friends who I was with. They were my “batchmates” when I first started to join the youth ministry in our church way back.
Matt who was the one who introduced me to the world of blogging and fashion. I was always the +1 to events but mehh I didn’t mind. Haha. More than that, he has been one of my greatest brothers for life!
Of course the birthday girl, Aljoy! Who’s always camera ready. She’s a stunner when we are taking photos of her. It seemed like modeling is her career. More than that, she is a person who has a huge heart for her family and friends. I am grateful to be one of them.
Ate Kat is Matt’s sister. She’s pretty and all but don’t underestimate this medtech (who said about underestimating anyway haha). Always a fun time to be around her just like Aljoy. It’s so fun to always come up with jokes and make them laugh. Haha.
Ate Sherry is camera shy but she was actually a natural! Also had a great time reconnecting with her once again after how many years. I thought it would be awkward at first but surprisingly, we got along well and it was really fun.
4TH AND LAST STOP: Bag of Beans
Well, this wasn’t supposed to be the last one but we were so tired from the numerous photo takings. Haha. Really getting old.
What We Ate: Chocolate Mousse (P130), Blueberry Cheesecake (P170), Vanilla Milkshake (P180), Hot Chocolate (P145)
So grateful to be part of this birthday celebration of Aljoy! It wasn’t just eating and taking photos but we took turns in honoring and encouraging how she had been a huge blessing for each one of us. Thank you Joy not just for your generous heart but for your loving heart towards us!
I looked so beat here. Haha. I was so tired after a whole day of walking, taking photos, eating, and taking more photos. I realized how hard it is even more for legit bloggers in which their jobs require them to do this almost every single day. Yes, it may be natural for them to pose and to extract creative juices on angles, composition, and all them photography terms and to draft every detail about the place, food, fashion, and everything else in their head and put into a solid flow of a well-written blog piece but man, it’s certainly still not easy to pull of this passion and lifestyle. So I salute all bloggers who will be able to read this. Never get tired of doing your passion and expressing who you are through this craft of yours. As for me, this may just be a once in a while thing since I have other priorities that I am juggling. Thanks for reading!
