i really need more fandoms and communities to just go ahead and host their own mediawiki, owning your own wiki as a community gives you so many more opportunities besides just being free from fandom (the company) + their horrid ui. you get to have fun and do custom things to your wiki that fit the fandom or lore or whatever, and most importantly you actually own the data as a community that way and fandom (the company) cant just steal it from you whenever they feel like it.

though if there is an existing, established and often maintained fandom wiki you might want to talk to the people managing that about moving to something else, it's entirely possible they've been wanting to move already and just havent had anyone take the initiative yet. like work together with ur community dont just do this on ur own or it wont go anywhere <3
