Anissa + Mark’s “fanboys”
**Spoilers for season 5 + the Invincible Comics!**
I think it is completely disgusting for the Invincible fandom to make jokes about Marks rape. I know that I am a girl in a male dominated fandom, so things like this are bound to happen, but it doesn’t make it okay.
I’ve seen comments from people hoping the animators animate every moment, that it takes up an entire episode, that they hope Anissa’s ‘bad’ (hot) like she was in the comics. And to that I say, how dare you?
Sexual assault and rape is NOT something to joke about at all. It is something that affects both male and female and that’s what the comic is trying to explain. Mark actively has PTSD throughout the next several issues, which damages his relationship with Eve and gives him a brief depression.
Rape should never be a joke whether or not it’s fictional. Because this happens to real people. This is why male victims are scrutinized the way they are and it is NOT okay.
I strongly hope and pray that this fandom calls this quits when season 5 comes out, or at the very least Prime makes a statement at the beginning of the episode like a trigger warning.
Stop making jokes about rape. Rape isn’t funny.
