am i the only one who was made more wobbly by the interview? 😅 assad reiterating that armand was punishing daniel, his "contrarian" view that DM is a doomed relationship, and that armand worships daniel essentially implying DM is no different to all the others he's had in which he worships someone rather than being loved in return. i like DM in QOTD precisely because it's different to all the other forms of "love" armand's known. the romance and domesticity at the heart of their peculiar horror is what i've always found so appealing. his answers made me a bit sad and nervous. it felt like he was saying armand is just too broken to ever love which is kind of a hard thing for me to consider

(it probably doesn't help that my pride month is off to a very bad start for tearful personal reasons)

I’m going to do the same thing that I’ve been asking my other anons to do, which is ask you to trust me when I say that quite a lot of the responses that Assad and the others are giving about Devil’s Minion at the moment likely sound the way they do for a reason. They’re smoke-screening what’s going on beneath the surface because there’s a lot that they can’t give away. Please be willing to put your panic on hold and let S3 unfold what’s happening with Armand and Daniel. It’s worth waiting for. I’m going to repeat, as many times as I have to repeat this, that I’m both a longtime, devoted book fan and a fan of the show, and I’m happy with what they’re doing. They’ve come out swinging with the controversial statements in interviews and teasers, but then you get turning points in the articles and interviews like this one. And those moments carry weight.

Actually upon further reflection, it is in fact Louis narrating this part so maybe it's actually incredibly in character for Mister DGAF du Lac to be like "eh, not my business."

Okay so there are a lot of mixed emotions going on after that Nerdist article, huh?

I've seen people thrilled

I've seen people vindicated

I've seen people crashing out

I've seen people devastated

And I've seen people gloating at the latter two categories (loser behaviour)

All I'm gonna say is:

It's less than a week until we start to see things for ourselves.

Screeners whose DM opinions I trust are happy.

Assad is still bound by spoilers and he's discussing where Armand is currently at this point in his life right now.

And yes, book canon does tell us that Armand saw them as doomed after he turned Daniel. But book canon also returned them to each other, no matter how brief the mention.

It's likely we won't even get the full story of DM until S4 so ask yourself, do you have the emotional bandwidth to preemptively stress about this for the next two years?? I fucking don't. I'm just going to be over here enjoying my show, which Assad is clearly very excited for us to see, and have a good time about it ✌️
