So, if you read Mdzs you may or may not know that Wei Ying's method of cultivation is ghost cultivation (guidao) and not demonic (modao). The title of the novel is, of course, misleading on purpose. I'm not gonna go into detail into the topic since I'm not even the best person that can explain it, but I really recommend reading this post beforehand if you didn't know about this (if you still want more info you can find a lot of discussions online about the topic).

Anyway, in the official English translation, unfortunately, the difference between modao and guidao is not made clear and lots of times when they are talking about guidao the translation translates it to demonic. The difference between gui and mo is fundamental in the novel to understand the character of Wei Ying and the whole story in general. Honestly when I first got into Mdzs I read the fantranslation so I never had any problems in picking up this distinction, but when I found out that the official version wasn't accurate on this side I was pretty upset (especially for my future self that will want to re-read the novel on paper and for the people that will read the official translation without knowing about this).

So I decided to correct the mistakes in the books and I wanted to share my work for anyone who may find it helpful.

DISCLAIMER: I have no knowledge of the Chinese language (I can't speak it nor understand it) and even if I did, I couldn't find anywhere an original version of the novel in Chinese (simplified or traditional). So to do this "correction" I compared the official translation with the one I read (the exiledrebels fantranslation) and I tried to edit all the times the words "demon/ic" were used in wrong or ambiguous ways replacing with words used in the fantranslation or that I felt were more fitting.

This is to say that the work I did is not nearly an accurate revision of the novel (to do that I first would need to reread the entire novel and most importantly I'd need the know Chinese) but it was the best attempt I could go for during an afternoon. I surely have missed a lot of mistakes/ambiguous translations, or may have made mistakes myself while revising, so feel free to tell me if you think anything is incorrect or if you find other errors. I mostly did this for myself so I can better enjoy the novel next time I read it, so it's not meant to be precise, but again I'm happy to share with anyone that may find this useful!

DROP THE JAX LORE MAN

What is up with him and Gangle? Did they know each other outside the circus? And if so is he the only one that recognized her? And if he ran over someone with his car, is it actually Gangle then? Or maybe he just feels sorry for the way he treated her all this time?

And what was up with his reaction to Kinger's reveal? Had he already heard that from him but didn't believe him in the past because he's crazy most of the time? Or maybe he just finally realized that it's all real, in the sense that what he does in the circus has an impact on real life people?

And what about his nightmare sequence? Is he actually closeted? All the theories about him teasing (and possibly envying) Zooble, feeling uncomfortable in the maid dress, and so many other details, make more sense as the show progresses, especially after that scene with Kaufmo, Ribbit and Pomni exposing him. But maybe his insecurities are about something else?

I don't even know what to say man, this was beyond everything. There's so much to unpack- the nightnare sequences, THE SONG (I have no mouth and I must scream!!), Jax and Gangle, Caine and the probable other AI Abel, the symbolism at the beginning of the episode (red Caine eating/killing blue Abel?), god I can't even begin to wrap my head around what just happened

I've just found out about the existence of something called "Murong Lian's diary". I've already completely finished reading the official translation of Remnants of filth but I couldn't find this in it. Does anybody know where I can read it??? I'm going crazy and desperate for more content 😭😭😭

I have felt for a long time Jax has a (little) sister in the real world. I started thinking about this looking at the way he treats Gangle, bullying her like an older brother would do (even though Gangle is older but I don't think that really matters).

And honestly after episode seven, and all the theories we're collectively having I feel like this possibility is becoming ever more plausible.

I mean, one of the most popular theories, and guess I had myself, is that he ran over someone at some point in his life. And then if you look closely at the images that flash in his mind, you can see that on the road there was a speed limit because it was an area highly frequented by children probably. So from there the guess he ran over a child.

And then the scene with Zooble "You got someone waiting for you outside?" "Don't you?" and his reaction. So maybe the person he ran over is his sister.

And there's also the scene from episode 4 where Gangle is run over by a truck. I'm not really sure if this is related at all to Jax but it's an interesting detail nonetheless. However I don't think Gangle is Jax's sister, but what I think is that Jax may kinda see his sister (if he has one of course) in Gangle and so he treats her accordingly.

And I also think that it would make sense for him to have specifically a little sister because he basically never swears. He only did at the end of episode 6 after his confrontation with Pomni. But even at the end of episode 7, when he is lashing out at Caine, all he says is "you dirty liar, you scumbag". It's almost like he's used to not swear because he used to be around someone that should not hear those kinds of words (or it also just could be Jax committing to the bit of being in the digital circus and being just a cartoon character and I'm just overthinking it).

I don't know, this is just a thought I had for a while and I'm not even sure if I believe it myself or I'm convinced by it. Sometimes as fans we really look too deep in some details, but I think it's still fun to analyze and theorize about things. We'll see what happens :)

Why do I feel like that when Abel around minute 25 said to Pomni "Make the right choice" was actually trying to warn her to press the red button and not the blue one?

I know that at the end we are told that even if they picked the blue button nothing bad would have happened to them, but I still can't help but feel like Caine would have been upset. And as Zooble once said, Caine is holding back because he likes them.

And I know that Abel was an NPC, but I still don't think that necessarily means that he had to do exactly what he is programmed for. After all Gumigoo did gain awareness at one point, why couldn't Abel do the same or something similar? That's why I think he was trying to warn them, maybe he felt like Caine would have had an "unpleasant" reaction to that, and who knows what could have been the consequences. And I don't know, I think it's still weird that everything Abel told them about the circus doesn't have some truth to it, but that's probably another matter.

Also I feel like it would make sense he said that specifically to Pomni because her right hand is red. Just like the "right" choice.

I don't know, just one of the random wild thoughts and theories I had in the past hour, I could be soooo off track

Does anyone know what the symbol of Erha first seven seas volume means? Because when I finished the first volume I didn't understand what it represented (they kinda looked eggs to me lol) but I waited to read the whole novel because maybe it would make sense later, but I finished it and I still don't understand. Like for example volume 7 has the tangerine or volume 4 has the two necklaces but I really don't get volume 1. The only guess I have is that they're just stones or something meant to represent Chu Wanning and Moran (because they're white and black) but maybe I missed something or don't remember it?

Please someone help me I've been thinking about this nonstop

Since the day I finished Little mushroom I have desperately needed to see a fanart of that one scene towards the end with Hubbard and Tanlang falling down together in the light of the dawn.

I mean it felt so beautiful, sweet and majestic reading it but I couldn't find any illustration or fanart of it, and when it comes to drawing I'm only good at copying references, so I never did it myself.

BUT NOW SEVEN SEAS IS REPUBLISHING LITTLE MUSHROOM?????? And MAYBE there will be an illustration of that scene?!!?!!!??

When I found out about this I started to jump around my house like a crazy kangaroo since I couldn't buy the PFH volumes in time. I only hope that the translation will be good because I'm kinda fond of the PFH one (even though I'm not really one to judge since I don't know Chinese).

Anyway seven seas is making me broke, HELP
