Gotta hit the fandom bingo of swapping characters ages. There is no real narrative here, just some quick fun.

i feel like not enough of the fandom gives ryuji credit for essentially creating the phantom thieves' aesthetic. with his first calling card he basically established:

the writing style of calling cards to come for the future, just with other characters' own voices.

the cut paper aesthetic

the color scheme

an early version of their logo, before being refined by yusuke

mottos like "we will take your heart!"

various references to media that the phantom thieves go on to lean into.

(and probably more that i can't even think of right now.)

the game's highly praised ui and menu style is something that RYUJI designed!

due to clues we can gather from this, he's likely a large fan of the phantom thief genre in media, something that was an established genre in japan even before persona 5 came out (and obviously what it intends to REALLY heavily utilize, lol). a couple decently popular examples of this i can think of are lupin III and detective conan. and he's pretty often shown to us to be a general fan of manga, video games, and anime in general, so i think that's cool and probably the intention.
