Temperance Johnny avoiding physical conflicts because he wants so badly to protect V's body, to honor the gift given to him. Being dragged into a bar brawl he didn't start and losing his shit and nearly beating someone to death because the guy split open V's face with a broken bottle. Quietly apologizing to someone who isn't there while he tenderly cares for the ugly wound in the bathroom mirror. Being crushed by the realization it's probably going to scar. Falling apart because he knows he's now stuck with a version of V's face that V never lived in.

I think it's cute when people say that Jackie and Johnny would have been besties because I honestly think Jackie would be saying to V, "Wait! Where is he? Where is he standing? I have a thing or two to say to him about threatening to take over your body!" And then like an hour later, he'd be saying to V, "Can you ask Johnny what inspired him to write The Ballad of Buck Ravers? Seriously...who the fuck is Buck Ravers?!"

One min Johnny would be Jackie's arch nemesis and the next V would be saying, "gee thanks choom! Johnny just blipped out for an hour cause hes sick of your incessant fanboy questions."

I am OBSESSED with the concept of Johnny coming back from beyond the blackwall - maybe in a synthetic body built for him - and he and V almost immediately become disgustingly, unapologetically codependent. Always finding excuses to touch each other, the brushing of hands and bumping of shoulders quickly evolves into Johnny's arms always being draped around V and V always sitting in Johnny's lap regardless of how many other seats are available. No one can figure out what the hell they are to each other but they are certainly a package deal, never seen apart. They start sleeping wrapped around each other, clinging, like they are trying to merge back into one being. Existing in two bodies feels wrong in a way they can't explain to anyone else. It makes their nerves buzz and their muscles ache, so very soon they're doing more than sleeping, and it's not just lust, it's because that's the only way to get Johnny inside, and that's the only time either of them feels whole. They started this journey as two souls shoved into one body, but now they feel more like one soul forced to live in two.

There is something really funny about when you do Johnny's quests in Cyberpunk 2077. If you've already bought certain apartments. Bitch, goes out, gets you blackout, breaks into a random apartment, and calls Rogue. V wake up in the morning is like "where am i?" And then you leave the building and you're like one apartment over from where you actually live. Unmatched character moment.

Post Temperance I like to imagine Johnny hallucinates V sometimes. The way V used to see him on the relic. And in their untouched body before Johnny tried to feel like this body was somewhat his own. They're just in the corner of his vision, pacing, or doing something mundane a few seats away. Speaking. Singing softly. An unknown side effect of the relic, or just plain psychological torment? Who knows.
