A new squad of superheroes: In the dark shadows of the night where womenâs screams were unheard, and evil crept silently through back alleyways and hidden streets, four super heroes emerge to fight injustice and crime against women.
The idea came because I like to display how strong women are in pretty much anything. My company, Fanm Djanm focuses on the strength of all women through African inspired fashion and headwraps. But I wanted this to focus on the modern black woman in todayâs world, and to make it fun, I wanted us to have super powers! When I come up with a story or a message I want to work on, the people always come first. Who can play this role? What do they mean to me and the story? Why them? I admire Cacsmy with all of my heart. Iâve loved her the very first time I met her at one of my pop up shops downtown Manhattan. Kristia became my muse before she even knew it. I used to shop at a store she worked at, and every time I saw her, I would tell her how beautiful she is! And Nichole contacted me through my website to photograph me for her âBe the Queen You were Born to Beâ photo project, and she also became a muse in my mind during our photo session. These women are inspiring bad ass dream catchers. They make me feel better just being around them. And we all accidentally had similar hair cuts! It was just meant to be. Iâm grateful to have friends who support my work and crazy ideas.
About our mission as super heroes:
We fight for those who are told their tears donât matter. Where the police hurt more than serve, and eating establishments are built just to shorten the lives of the community. We fight for the strong who have been stripped of their powers. We fight for the invisible. [h/t]
I love this so much. I absolutely adore this!
Oh. My. Gods. The most beautiful kick-ass ladies, ever.

"It's not a new thing to me."
âItâs interesting that in America the problem youâre allowed to talk about is Black Lives Matter,â she told ES Magazine.
âItâs not a new thing to me - itâs what Lauryn Hill was saying in the 1990s, or Public Enemy in the 1980s. Is BeyoncĂ©â or Kendrick Lamar going to say Muslim Lives Matter? Or Syrian Lives Matter? Or this kid in Pakistan matters? Thatâs a more interesting question.â
shut the fuck up! sheâs always spouting some bullshit. black people are not your fucking mule
Why is the article gone?
the article is there for me but anyway MIA needs to turn on her location because im going to beat her ass
âA more interesting questionâ⊠so sheâs saying âBlack people complaining about getting killed is boring me, and this is about me wanting to shift popular rhetoric on the backs of Black Americans because itâs their job, and this is not about actually caring about peopleâs livesâ.. And âItâs not newâ ..exactly sis thatâs the problem, that weâre still saying it.. sorry itâs too boring that weâre still dying
It sounds like sheâs saying that thereâs a lot of focus on BLM right now. Probably because the biggest pop stars are black and singing about it.
And for everyone to tell her to talk about her issues herself: Sheâs literally been doing it for years with death threats following her from everywhere.
Yeah, like as if Black people have been talking about racism and systematic oppression for years without death threats following them from everywhere.
Of course thereâs a huge focus on BLM, because Black people made it a huge focus. We brought awareness to it. We made it a huge fuckinâ movement. We let people know that little has changed since the 1960âČs.
Of course Black pop stars are singing and bringing awareness to BLM. Youâre shedding light on a issue within your race. Howâs MIA gonâ get salty over that??
Yâall tellin me Muslims canât do that shit? MIA is an activist. She can start a movement if she wanted to, but she wants Black celebrities to create that movement first??Â
BLM was created by 3 Black, queer women, and nobody knew these girls until now!
(Left to Right: Opal Tometi, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors) Â
Letâs not forget the fact MIA built her music career off of Black music, so she should be the last person talking. We should be questioning MIA her stance on BLM, but she already answered that question before we asked, soâŠ
And FUCKIN PLEASE STOP IGNORING THAT THERE ARE BLACK MUSLIMS EVERYWHERE
