The fact that you only get pissy when an English person mispronounces a name is very hypocritical.

Part of being multicultural is accepting that sometimes people are going to sound different, and sometimes that means mispronouncing something here and there.

Sometimes you can correct somebody on the pronunciation but that isn’t necessarily going to mean that they’re actually capable of that pronunciation.

It isn’t “anglocentrism” to struggle with a foreign name, it’s just as much having an accent as a Japanese person struggling with an English name is.

okay, let me connect the dots for you. i assumed you could do it yourself, but apparently not.

people on welfare, who live in government housing, who receive any number of these low income benefits, pay no income tax. they pay no property tax. they pay nothing to social security or medicare. & sales tax doesnt count since theyre purchasing the bulk of their necessities with other peoples tax money to begin with.

in short, they reap the benefits of society, but dont benefit society. they only benefit themselves & their immediate family members. by your own logic, they need to give SOMETHING back to the people who sweat & bleed to put food in their bellies & a roof over their heads. or are they exempt for some reason?

now i was going to be snarky & say “throw the bums off welfare is what im getting from this”, but i decided to be constructive & opt for an actual moderate, reasonable, positive solution that everyone can live with.

Welfare is part of it though. Its intended to help people get back on their feet so they can go back to contributing to society and is also meant to help care for those who can’t look after themselves. That’s why having societies was so beneficial in early people; you could be looked after when you couldn’t survive on your own.

People who are too disabled or sick to work should still be able to get welfare if they can’t volunteer or work. As for other people who are physically and mentally able to work, there should be either volunteering, or mandatory job search help seminars, and job training.

Oh yes I should mention i am absolutely 100% in favor of requiring people on welfare who are able to work to either have a job or actively be applying to jobs (at least 5-20 a month depending on location).

I’m not in favor of just letting any old Joe and Annie live off of welfare forever. They have to help society to. They have to at least be trying to do their part.

I also think pretty much all parents with the exception of the super rich/well off should get government funding for their babies in the first five years of the child’s life. At LEAST the first five years. Children are so so so important to the future of humanity, we as a society should want all babies to be educated, clothed, fed, and warm.

I’m really not in favor of forced community service, but perhaps offer more benefits to those who do volunteer. That would be a much better system.

Instead call 1-800-843-5678 or fill out a form for cybertipline.com , they reach out within the same day and deal with these assholes all the time. They will contact you if they need more assistance or if they’ve resolved it! The police department redirected me to the hotline and will do so in every situation unless it’s local. Stay safe!
