warnings: angsty (?), aemond is a bookworm and a worried father, alyssa couldn't care less about old lady vhagar, they both have trouble with their feelings about each other.
author's note: i really love alymond's relationship. they're top tier enemies to lovers and i'm living for them. also, the face claim for alyssa is freya allen as ciri in the witcher, so picture her with silver hair and violet eyes.

Alyssa always had trouble sleeping. Is something Daemon had, and passed it on to his favorite child.
On these sleepless nights, the young princess would find distraction in old pages from the old books on the old shelves at the library inside the Keep.
Her favorite place in the castle, Alyssa had great memories there, where her father taught her high-valyrian, where she used to play hide from her septa, and where she would find refuge from insomnia.
What she did not know, is that Prince Aemond shared the same feelings about the library. The place where he had studied his whole life, to be better and smarter than everyone else.
So she wasn't expecting to find the Prince's slim figure, sitting in one of the armchairs in front of the fireplace, reading a book.
Blushing, Alyssa gulped, quite startled by the sight of her cousin. He wasn't wearing his eyepatch, and his sapphire glowed in the firelight.
She had a full view of the scar she gave him.
They had not seen each other since they shared a kiss, four days ago.
"I believe the hour of the owl is not up for little girls to be out of bed." Aemond muttered, too focused on his book.
"Fuck off, Aemond." The princess retorted, and went in search of a book.
When she found one she was familiar with, she wandered around the room, looking for a warm place to sit, but none was best than the empty armchair by the fireplace, beside Prince Aemond.
"You can sit here, I don't bite." He voiced in a murmur, and his eye never left the old page he read, to look at the princess.
Alyssa sat on the armchair, and stared at the cover of the book without saying a word.
Perhaps the princess thought that ignoring her cousin would make the moment less awkward, but it didn't.
It wasn't very often that Aemond was seen without his eyepatch, and she tried hard not to stare.
She thought he was already gorgeous, but that precious stone that replaced his eye made him look something more.
"What are you reading?" The princess asked lowly.
"Now you want to do small talk?" Aemond cocked an eyebrow as his smirk threatened to make appearance.
Alyssa tsked, rolling her eyes.
"I'm reading a chapter about the life expectancy of dragons. Vhagar is not getting any younger, and if something happens to her..."
"Didn't Balerion died at 200 and something? Isn't Vhagar like... 180?" The princess questioned.
"181." Aemond corrected.
"Gods, that thing is really old." Alyssa mocked, playing with her fingers.
Aemond finally turned his head to face her. His sapphire glowed to the firelight, the beautiful shade of blue contrasting with the prince's pale skin tone.
"She's the last living piece from the conquest. You should pay some respect."
Alyssa scoffed, "Aemond, she's a living burden. She's as slow as she's big. You should hope she dies so you can claim a better dragon. Maybe Silverwing will let you tameโ"
Aemond slammed his hand against the arm of the chair, offended by the princess' idea.
"You have no idea what is like to be dragonless! They're what makes us what we are! Dreams didn't made us kings, dragons did!" Aemond closed the book in his hands harshly.
"Iโ" The princess frowned. She was quite hurt that her words actually affected him. "I am sorry, Aemond. It wasn't my intention to make you angry."
Aemond sighed, staring at the book resting in the princess' hands. She had not opened that book once since she took it out of it's shelf.
"What is yours about?" Aemond nodded at the book. Alyssa followed his direction to her hands.
"Tales of Old Valyria." She murmured, "It's my favorite book."
"Oh. I've read this one. It's mโ hm, It's really good." Aemond bit his lip, turning his back to her and facing the fire.
They stayed in silent for a couple of minutes, but there was nothing comfortable about it. It was awkwardly strange, and Alyssa still felt bad for mocking Vhagar.
And she couldn't stop thinking about the kiss, and how Aemond's soft lips felt against hers.
And how handsome he is without his eyepatch.
And his scar... the one made by her hands. She felt bad about that, for the first time. They were just children. Stupid children, she thought.
"I'm sorry."
Aemond half turned to her. He wondered if she was really talking to him, and what she felt sorry about.
"Iโ I'm sorry about your eye." Alyssa whispered, her voice could barely be heard.
Aemond chuckled softly, "You're a few years late, Alyssa."
It took him a few seconds before he added;
"I'm sorry about your cat."
The princess smirked, staring at the man in front of her.
Aemond was so different from what he normally looked like.
His hair was tied in a low ponytail, and it rested on his shoulder.
He wore linen clothes, like he was off to bed. And yet there he was, in front of her. Both alone, in the library, during the late hours.
And to the fire that warmed the space around them, Alyssa was sure he was the most handsome man she had ever seen.

author's note: to be honest, i wasn't going to do this. but i know there's at least 10 people that actually like the whole dad!daemon au, so here's the start of alymond's relationship. young adult!alyssa is entirely inspired by bea miller's album "aurora", so that's the kind of vibe i'm going for her. (also, let's suppose laena married some lord and had baela and rhaena.)

warnings: really fluff, aemond being nice for the first time in his life, and alyssa being a baddie raised by daddy daemon.
"You must admit, he is really handsome." Rhaena said with a wicked smirked.
Alyssa scoffed. Since her friends discovered of her betrothal they have been teasing her constantly.
"He is an one-eyed arrogant twat, and nothing but that."
She also thought her cousin, Aemond, was a very talented warrior, but still an arrogant twat.
The girls had free pass to watch the boys training, but not to train themselves.
Alyssa liked to observe their movements, she could learn a thing or two from that.
Her brothers weren't in the field that day.
"Only here to watch, girls? Join the fun! I bet I could keep you entertained." Prince Aegon said in a mocking tone.
"You know we can't, my prince." Baela replied, rolling her eyes.
"Ah, c'mon! I promise to take easy on you, ladies."
Aemond silently watched to his brother's provocations.
The princess had been wearing ringmail all day, so she was the only one between the girls appropriately dressed to training.
"C'mon Alyssa, let's see if your pretty hands can work! If you rather, I could teach you other ways to make them work in private."
Smirking, Alyssa unsheathed Doombringer.
"Please take easy on me, dear cousin." She faked a plead in a sweet voice.
Aemond crossed his arms and watched in a corner. He already knew how well the princess' little hands could work. One of his eyes now was history.
Like the One-Eyed Prince expected, Alyssa effortlessly defeated Prince Aegon.
Once the point of the valyrian steel of her sword made contact with the prince's pale skin of his cheek, he called for surrender.
"You are going to regret this!" Aegon warned, as he left the training camp with a bleeding cheek.
Baela and Rhaena followed him right after.
Aemond smirked wickedly and came closer to his cousin. She was too distracted, cleaning her blade, to notice his presence.
"That was impressive."
The princess sneared, "You're not impressed, just trying to make small talk. I'm not interested, Aemond."
"Don't you ever low your guard? I'm trying to be nice, and you know I don't do that very often."
"Do you?" Alyssa cocked an eyebrow.
"What?"
"Low your guard?"
Aemond frowned. A tension made appearance between them.
"You should go, Aemond. Your mommy is not gonna be very happy if she sees you getting intimate with the Eye Ripper Lady." Alyssa turned around, and her body crashed into his chest.
Until now, she never noticed how close he really was to her, and how his tall body towered over hers.
"It's not like your daddy would be thrilled either. Also, I am having a nice conversation with my betrothed."
"Keep dreaming, One Eye. The king can squirms all he wants, but you know 'us' it's never gonna happen. And I know you're just accepting this to frustrate my family."
Alyssa tried to flee away but the prince closed his hand around her fist, pulling her back to him.
"Perhaps. But it's so difficult to believe that I wouldn't be so opposed to this union? Think about all the future little dragonriders we could bring into this world" Aemond teased, his face became closer to hers.
"If you keep talking, I'm literally gonna take your other eye with my own hand!" The blonde princess hissed.
"I dare you." Aemond widely opened his eye, looking even more terrifying than he already was.
The princess hooked her hand and tried to attack his face, aiming for his eye. He was quicker to grab both her fists and hold them against her back.
She was at his mercy.
"I admire your courage, cousin. How'd you think uncle Daemon would react if I gave you an eyepatch too?" He smiled.
There was something so attractive about his psychotic smile.
"He'd free your head from your body and give it to me as a souvenir"
"And how'd you think he'd react if I gave you a kiss?" Aemond whispered, his lips almost brushed against hers.
Alyssa swallowed hard, too stunned to speak.
"I don't think he needs to know." The prince answered to his own question.
He kissed her. Alyssa squirmed against his hold, but a few seconds later she accepted his lips, and opened her mouth to him.
That was her first intimate moment with a man.
When their lips were apart, she stared at him. She was in shock, and he couldn't stop smirking to her reaction.
He thought it was adorable.
"It's our secret. Marry me, and maybe we can do this again." Aemond muttered close to her ear.
He let go of her, and left before she could react to what just happened between them.
Could you possibly do one where Aemond reacts to finding out that he might have to marry Daemonโs daughter? Would he be mad or weirdly happy in a way. We all know what daemon thinks of what his brother has in store for his daughter and he is not having it.

warnings: fluff(?), aemond is his own warning, cussing because aemond has a dirty mouth.
author's note: I'm truly obsessed about this bc I never thought about Aemond's reaction to being betrothed. This is going to be in headcanon format due most of it just being from Aemond's pov. Thank you so much for your amazing idea <3 also wrote this while listening to "the red means i love you" and i'm shipping alymond ๐ญ

"I know you're lying, Aegon. Don't you have anything better to do? Maybe some young maid to fuck?"
Aegon scoffed, "Well, if you don't believe me, go talk to father about it. I'm just telling you what I heard."
Aemond believed his brother was nothing but a drunk liar, so his word didn't actually meant anything.
But he went to talk to the King anyways.
While walking through the corridors, Aemond thought what that meant to him.
He wanted to be mad about it, but it wasn't that bad.
In fact, it wasn't bad at all.
He knew Alyssa Targaryen pretty well. He knew how feisty that pretty little thing could be. She did took his eye, after all.
And Aegon wasn't lying.
"I don't hope you to understand, but our line must spread. She's a pure Targaryen, and would make to you a good wifโ Why are you smiling?" King Viserys questioned, raising a curious eyebrow.
Aemond chuckled, "Have you told Daemon?"
"I did... He was furious about it." Viserys confessed.
"Well, that's great! I'll give these exciting news to my betrothed myself. I couldn't be more happy about your choice, father." Aemond left the king's chambers without discussing if Daemon agreeded or not.
Aemond knew Daemon wouldn't let Alyssa marry him.
He also couldn't care less. His father was the king.
Aemond couldn't put in words the taste of satisfaction in his mouth once he knew how angry Daemon was about his union with his uncle's daughter.
The girl literally took his eye, the least she could do is marry him without complaining.
Oh, but she would be furious too. He knows she's just like her daddy.
"I figured I'd find you here." Aemond said with a smile.
Since Daemon gave her her own sword, Alyssa spended quite some time in the training camp when the boys weren't there.
It's been years, and she'd still be in the same place and the same hour, training until she was tired.
Curiously, Aemond always knew when she was there.
"And what do you want?" Alyssa spat, slamming her sword towards a wooden target.
"I came to give you the great news! I couldn't believe my own ears when I heard it."
"Oh? Did your mother successfully tried to kill anyone? I hope it was your grandfather. Gods, I hate that man." Alyssa chuckled and beheaded the target.
Aemond frowned and squinted. He wouldn't fall for her games. He was the one to tease, not her.
"Haha. You're so funny, Alyssa. I bet it wouldn't take long for me to fall for you." Aemond coaxed.
Alyssa blinked a couple of times, processing what he just said.
"What?"
"Did I stutter?" Aemond smirked.
Alyssa took a deep breath before asking, "What the fuck are you talking about, One Eye?"
Aemond clicked his tongue, "Gods, you're just as fucking stupid as you're pretty. It means we're betrothed. I'd be treating my future husband with respect, if I were you."
"Are you crazy?" Alyssa hysterically laughed, "My father would have your head before letting me marry you." She pointed her sword towards the prince, "I would have your head before giving myself to you."
"Kinky." Aemond retorted and lowered her sword with the point of his index. "Who's your father to disrespect the king's orders?"
Alyssa swallowed hard. She had no answer for that. Even the dumbest girl knows the king's word is above everything. And she is no dumb girl.
She left him there and went looking for her father.
She thought about a million possibilities.
Maybe she could run away? They lived in Pentos for a while, she'd do well there.
No, Y/N wouldn't let her go alone.
What about Daeron? If she begged, maybe the king could call him back to King's Landing, so they could get married.
To be truthful, Alyssa didn't wanted to marry any of Alicent's kin, but anyone was better than Aemond.
But Daeron was the same age as her brother, Maegon. That was kinda disgusting.
"Did you know uncle Viserys wants to marry me to Aemond?" Alyssa stormed into her parents chambers.
Daemon's lips immediately left yours. You groaned in response.
"Maybe knock the next time, Alyssa?" You said in annoyance.
"Sorry mother, but I think what I have to say is way more important than you snogging with father." Alyssa answered with wit.
Daemon smirked, "It's okay, 'Lyssa. I'll talk to Viserys again. You know I'd die before letting this happen."
You rolled your eyes, "You're both being dramatic about it. Aemond is not that bad. He's a bit... violent, yes, but he would never hurt you. I promise you, daughter, violent men can be great lovers." You ran your fingers through your husband's little braids in his hair.
"Don't go giving her any ideas, Y/N." Daemon warned with a stern look, and you snorted.
"She's a grown woman, Daemon. There's a sword in her hand. I don't think you need to protect her anymore." You shrugged.
"Hello??? I'm still in the room, please stop talking about me like I'm not here!" Alyssa crossed her arms.
"Don't worry. I told Viserys you're not marrying Aemond, so you're not marrying Aemond. Is that clear?" Daemon asked reassuring her.
