4chan and Kiwifarms seem to be the source of all the evil on the internet for some people and they can not comprehend that online fascists do not spawn from one point like Anglos from the queens nest under Buckingham Palace.

No denial of the importance of these places to online, western fascism but reddit has been a locus for online far right agitation in the west for years. Instagram, twitter and facebook have made it far more international than before. Not every racist, transphobic, misogynistic or otherwise bigoted individual comes from one of these sites. Sometimes they are radicalised by a thing called the society they live in and we can discuss the rot of being in a settler state/imperial metropole.

great reasons for accusing students of using AI:

you're racist and think there's no way racialized students could write an essay this good

you need to decrease your class average because it's the end of the semester and you haven't met your target average

one of your TAs gave out too many As and you don't want to regrade anything

you haven't redesigned your course in years and students have gotten advice on how to write their essay from past students

you're pissed off at a student with disability accommodations for making you do extra work

you want to feel powerful

you got into a fight with your wife

you want to bond with other professors over how lazy kids are these days and swap juicy stories about students crying in your office

you want social media clout

A couple of weeks ago I rescued a Canon ImageRunner c1028iF from our Masonic Hall when we started the big refurbishment.

He's a photocopier! A laser printer! A scanner! A fax machine! He's old enough to get drunk and vote inadvisably! I've already printed a few hundred pages on him, and I can see my art practise changing to fit around his abilities.

He sometimes throws up an error message:
