pushing the family money out of the equation is a mistake, though. the phrase "born with a silver spoon in their mouth" is a saying for a reason, because there was never a point in these people's lives when they weren't wealthy or powerful, when they couldn't or didn't benefit directly from their respective family's glut of resources.
there was never a moment when they didn't get whatever new toy they wanted, never a moment they had to eat something for dinner that they didn't want (let alone go hungry), never a moment they couldn't spend time with at least one parent because they were both working two jobs, never a bad situation they found themselves in that they couldn't call someone to fix it for them, never a moment they couldn't fall back on that old chestnut, "do you know who my father is?"
this is what they grew up with. this is what they're acclimated to. this is normal for them, and they've clearly felt neither need nor want to live any other way. saying they have money because they're so profoundly selfish is not only getting it backwards, it indirectly validates that whole "self-made man" myth that they've all bought into, the one that lets donald trump go on an interview and say with his whole chest that he built his own business through his own hard work, force of will, and "a small loan of a million dollars from [his] father". because they've grown up thinking a million dollars is nothing. they shit on a million dollars and wipe with two, and not once sparing a thought for how many of their fathers' employees made all that money or how long it took. to them a factory is just a large concrete box that generates profit, why would there be people in it.
