one of my favorite things about campaign 4 is the un/intentional allegory of dol-makjar, a city of orcs who can see in the dark because of darkvision, getting overtaken by humans who "wield the light" and have absolutely no darkvision. and it got really hammered down in episode 31 when the sons of the dawn and the grey tower guard were surrounded by magpie orcs and the wind snuffed out all the lights.

Conway knows what’s wrong in Stillwater.

He just has bigger problems than letting anyone in on what’s actually wrong in the small western town that he was dumped in. Conway seems stuck between running from the law and his (former) “outlaw band” to keeping track of his own half-truths and lies of omission. But, orders are orders and he is nothing if not a man of devotion. The problem is: People start to actually trust him, rely on him, and care about him, specifically and especially the good doctor of the town. Even worse, it becomes… reciprocal. Now the line of truth and lie is blurred beyond recognition, perhaps beyond forgiveness and repentance, and something is still wrong in Stillwater. And he’s known the whole time.

Conway does what he’s always been best at.

Taking the fall and running away.
