My Current Dire Situation

Due to essentially a year of overdrafting -1000 or more, there’s no funds left in Dessie’s GoFundMe. Please do not let the amount of money showing in the goal distract you — it’s gone to keeping Dessie and the rest of us alive, which has been difficult up until quite recently.

Now yay, we’re doing better and Dessie has her kidney, which seems to be doing well. But we still need about $6000 ASAP to get us through this. By Monday the 5th would be great.

Dessie is back in the hospital as of this weekend. She developed a canker sore, which got worse, to the point she couldn’t drink and became dehydrated, which is very bad when you’re a kidney transplant patient. So now she’s admitted and receiving fluids by IV, while her team tries to figure out what caused this and how to heal her.

We were hoping we’d all be home by October, but this throws a wrench in the possibility.

Dessie’s going in for a biopsy on her lip this morning, in hopes her team can figure out why it’s getting worse and then fix it. It’s been long , stressful scary ten days (and more to come) in the hospital for her. (All of us, but particularly Dessie).

She’s off to surgery in an hour. (11 PST). Apparently they’re also putting in a gastric nose tube.
