LACHESISM
A "Crime and Punishment" farm AU / Alternative Ending
After the events of the original book, Raskolnikov flees to a small town, where he finds shelter in the house of a widow who lives with her niece, Lisaveta. He works on the farm in exchange for food and shelter, and over time, he grows close to the girl, who has clearly fallen in love with him. The situation complicates when this affection becomes mutual, but Raskolnikov lacks the ability to maintain a healthy relationship with Lisaveta. Her aunt, more concerned with arranging a beneficial marriage for her niece, fails to notice the inappropriate closeness between them, unable to prevent the worst from happening.
GIRLS WHEN THEY FINALLY GET WHAT THEY DESERVE*:
*a fanfic of their favorite character with an OC, with a plot that breaks with the usual choice for fanfics of that story.
trying to be a rory gilmore type of student, but feeling like a rodion raskolnikov type of student
this is what going back to college at 26 is feeling like, tbh 😭
people will clown on me for this because he killed two people but I just love how sweet Rodya is. He is so cruel and mean and uncouth a lot or even most of the time, but then he does things like constantly thoughtlessly give the last of his money away to anyone who needs it more than him, cries when he’s in his psychotic episode and can’t remember who Razumikhin is, has that very sweet and tender moment with Polenka, begs the police to get a doctor for Marmeladov and says he’ll pay for it despite having nothing at all himself. At the same time he is capable of terrible things and is often terrible specifically to the people who love him and want to help, and oscillates wildly between the two. It’s that juxtaposition that holds so much of the interest of the narrative itself for me. A lot of people focus on how awful he is and while that is also honestly such a fun part of his character, that alone is not what makes him compelling to me. I have so much tenderness for his character despite what he’s done because he is just so mentally ill and has been through and been witness to so much hardship. He is not easy to love or understand but it’s so beautiful and sweet that Razumikhin, Sonya, his family and his other friends love him so dearly anyway. I truly think the suffering he is constantly surrounded by is the thing that has driven him to psychosis. Specifically I think of when he goes to the police station in part two and says he has been “shattered by poverty.” In these little moments of sweetness and lucidity towards others, even in the depths of his illness, we can still see the little boy in him who so desperately wanted to help that poor horse.
Making of the 1970 Crime and Punishment Film
Part 2: The Film That Almost Didn't Happen
Although Lev Kulidzhanov envisioned Georgy as the ideal Raskolnikov, Taratorkin himself was initially hesitant about accepting the role. He carefully considered the immense workload he already carried in the theater, where his performances were crucial. Many if not all of these shows had no second lineup that could replace him which would force the show to stop in his absence. Seeing this, he realized that he wouldn’t be able to act in both the theater and the film.
Some of Georgy Taratorkin's roles in the Leningrad TUZ
Taratorkin’s mother, Nina Alexandrovna, vividly recalled a night when Georgy, deep in thought, settled onto the windowsill and sat there for several hours without moving. She was so concerned by his stillness that she didn’t dare approach him, not even to suggest he go to bed. When Georgy finally rose, he made a firm decision—he would not accept the role of Raskolnikov. He was extremely loyal to the theater and the director, Zinovy Korogodksy who gave Taratorkin a chance to be an actor when no one else would.
After Georgy conveyed his decision to decline the role out of loyalty to the Leningrad TUZ, Kulidzhanov reached out to Korogodsky. Together, they came to an agreement that allowed Georgy to balance both commitments—he would spend five days a week filming in Moscow and return to Leningrad for the remaining two days to perform in the theater.

winter olympics au!!! pairs figure skating!!! enjolras and cosette VS grantaire and eponine!! featuring les amis competing in various sports and valjean and javert as their coaches because !!!!!!!!!
comedy!! drama!! suspense!! enemies to lovers!!
does no one else see the vision
Enjolras being kind of like Yuzuru Hanyū (a complete legend in the field with hundreds of thousands of loyal fans) and Grantaire being in his first Olimpics (he's having an imposter sindrome crisis at all time)
Enjolras and Cosette's coach is Jean Valjean and Eponine and Grantaire's coach is Javert.
Eponine dragged Gavroche with her and for some reason just after the opening ceremony the kid has already become an internet celebrity by doing something unhinged in front of the cameras.
Jehan Provuaire is also a figure skater but he's in the individual category. He also does his own routines.
Combefere would be in the curling team and he'd take it completely seriously.
Courfeyrac would snowboard, he's just cool like that. He's always picking on Combefere telling him that curling is just mopping the floor (he knows that's not true cause Combefere has explained the sport and technique to him in a really pasionate way far too many times already, but he would rather die than stop teasing).
Bahorel obviously is an ice hockey player, you can't argue with me in that one.
Joly is a medical volunteer.
Bossuet didn't make it to the olímpic team but he gets along with a lot of the competitors so he went there to support them.
They all go bobsleighing in their free time or go to Jolllly's room to play in his wii: Olympic Winter Game as they have hot chocolate.

Not much to say I just liked this
oh good lord lol
my honest reaction:
Falling Stars Observed from the Balloon, illustration by Albert Tissandier for the second edition of James Glaisher's Travels in the Air, 1871
this is where I post from.
Me: hell yeah, it’s a super serious thing, crime and punishment is a very serious piece of literature that explores the human psyche through guilt. Raskolnikov is a character that must be analysed from different perspectives, the mental, the moral, the faithful one.
Also me: OMG, I LOVE YOU 1970 RASKOLNIKOV, MY LITTLE POOKIE BEAR, MY PRECIOUS BABYGIRL. BETTER START A FAN CLUB BECAUSE U DESERVE IT!!!

Me and Rodya 🙂↕️
THIS IS JUST TO SAY
That according to Goodreads, one year ago (may 15th) I MET MY BABYGIRL RODYA FOR THE FIRST TIME (I began reading Crime and Punishment), and since then, life has been nothing but brainrot.
and I just have to say that I had NEVER EVER before been in love with a fictional man, call it Mr. Darcy, call it Edward Cullen, call it whatever you want, so that’s why Raskolnikov’s my pookie, my babygirl, my everything 🙂↕️💖 and why, even if an unpopular opinion, I can’t stand seeing him with Sonya, idc if that’s an elemental part of the story 🙂↔️
That’s it, good night. Happy anniversary to me 🥳
