Enhancing The Iconiq 1/6 scale Highlander Katana. Being somewhat underwhelmed by its appearance out of the box, I attempted to give it an old ivory appearance. First rub a stick of brown oil pastel over the handle. Blow away any excess pastel dust. Then rub a stick of white oil pastel over the handle. Again blow away any excess pastel dust. The details will become more distinct. Spray on oil pastel fixative and leave to dry. Finally, to seal it, wearing latex gloves, I smoothed on a thin layer of Loctite super glue over the handle to provide a subtle sheen, and left it to dry. Pretty happy with the result.

Ongoing 1/6 scale customising project on Master Team's Leon action figure. Hoping to make it a more authentic looking depiction of Leon S. Kennedy in Capcom's Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Ongoing project to make Master Team's Leon action figure more authentic looking. After having dyed the fleece details with black tea, I set out to further modify and repaint the jacket. This involved applying (dabbing, no brushstrokes) alternating layers of diluted PVA glue, sand textured acrylic paint and brown acrylic paints until the desired effect was achieved. Additional seam details were added by applying 3mm wide ribbon with Loctite glue during the painting process.

My ongoing John Carter 1/6 scale figure project based on Disney's unfairly underrated 'John Carter of Mars' movie of 2012, an adaptation of the first of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom or Mars adventures.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Ada Wong

Here's my slightly modified SWToys 'Miss Wong' 1/6 scale figure. I added faux leather pants to the outfit which is how I interpreted the costume on first viewing. It makes more sense than just stockings. To the harness I attached a lamp, because in-game it bugged me that there was no defined source for Ada's torchlight in darkened areas. And finally, I scratched and painted into the silicone arm the wound Ada received in the prologue of 'Separate Ways'.

Completed customising Master Team's Leon 1/6 scale figure based on the RE4 Remake's in-game models for as close an authentic look as possible.

Painted the t-shirt with acrylic paints. Payne's Gray for the main body, and a mix of Payne's Gray & Prussian Blue for the shoulders & sleeves. Mars Black was used on the collar detail.

The jacket was soaked in cold tea for 25 minutes to darken the fleece lining. The zip was painted with Brass coloured acrylic paint, and the zipper was swapped around.

The harness straps were shortened to raise the holster & pouch above the waist for an overall better fit to the body. Additional button details were added to the front & back.

Additional leg and belt pouches were darkened with watercolour paints.

Continuing to modify Master Team's 1/6 scale RE4 Remake Leon. This time I soaked the jacket in cold tea (black) for 25 minutes to darken the fleece lining, and replaced the collar straps with longer pieces of leather. Additionally I painted the zip with brass acrylic paint, and moved the zipper from the left side to the right.

Modifying Master Team's RE4 Remake Leon. The shirt is well tailored and the fabric accepts acrylic paints very well. I used Payne's Gray for the lower torso area, and a mixture of Payne's Gray and Prussian Blue for the upper section and sleeves. Mars Black was used on the collar detail. Place paper inside the shirt and sleeves before painting to avoid excess paint sticking the interior surfaces together. Paint each section separately and allow a day for the paint to dry properly to avoid staining.

Star-Lord 1/12 scale Hasbro figure repaint & modify. I fondly remember being introduced to this original iteration of Star-Lord in the pages of Marvel Comics 'Star Wars Weekly/Monthly' in the UK during the late '70s early '80s. Simply had to purchase this Marvel Legends release by Hasbro, but slightly repaint the gold & yellow elements of the costume & modify the pistol appropriately.
