Mira is so underrated. Sisters are usually villainised in novels. To soften us towards the female lead and develop an empathy and root for her. Which I kinda hate. I hate it when authors villainise one normal or circumstantially flawed character to make the lead characters look better and attractive (ahem ahem Sarah J Mass). Mira was crafted so wonderfully. The unruffled, protective, I will peel your scrotum off if you touch my baby sister kinda love was so endearing and realistic too. We saw a parallel between Violet and Cat there. Both younger sisters acknowledging the fear they have for the safety and well-being of their elder sisters. The bonding of Violet and Cat stemmed from there, despite their differences. It was such a beautiful insight and understanding of human nature.

Someone tell me if I've done the maths wrong, but I think Mira was a first year when Brennan died (she's 6 years older than Violet and Violet was 14 when Brennan died which means Mira would have been 20)

Which means Mira probably found out about Brennan's death during battle brief.

No wonder she is struggling more than Violet to accept that Brennan is still alive!

absolutely so true OP - mira is so justified to hate brennan faking his death

but also (because i really do love maths for some reason), Violet had just turned 15 because it happened during the Battle of Aretia which was when Xaden was 17 (and we know they're two years apart) but between getting the news back to basgiath and the chaos of the executions means that she would have turned 15 by the time they get the news. so Mira would almost definitely have been 21 (but still in first year)

Adding on to the couple of posts I’ve seen circulating defending our girl Violet in IF, but it’s in regards to one of the grosser complaints I’ve seen a few times about her that “omg how could she withhold sex from Xaden cause she didn’t understand him? I would never!!”

Which first off GROSS no one is owed sex ever not even Xaden Riorson

Second off Violet was pretty clear that she understood his decision to keep things from her, but that just meant she couldn’t try a relationship with him again yet (valid and what I’ve seen other people talking about)

BUT our girl made it 1000% clear she was still willing to get dicked down despite it!! Did not hide that one bit!! Actively did the opposite!

Xaden was the one pulling the “no, violence, now that I’ve had all of you I won’t settle for anything less” speech every time lmao

sooo i saw a FW theory that is a bit wtf but the person had some good points... (though i can't recall them now 💔)

it says that bodhi is actually riorgail's son and has a time travelling signet... the theory is that bodhi (= riorgail's 'son') came back in time to prevent something and change the past... more something like the fact xaden ended up becoming an actual enemy & violet died when he was young 👀

i don't believe it BUTTT it would be a really good plot twist hahaha

Interesting! I think Bodhi is like a black hole of FW theories because we’ve gotten so comparatively little of his lore and personality and then several odd things have stuck out, so he’s at the core of like half the theories I’ve seen 😂 I haven’t seen this particular one though!

I also don’t think it’s true, but it’s always fun to see people’s out-there theories.
