don't start following or nosing around this blog i'll block you
this is only up for me at this point, i'd privatize it if i could
can people stop reblogging my personal posts and shit after i left for feeling mined @esbofo others like jfc creepy as fuck
i wish i were just interacting with others on an individual to individual basis. i wish the desire for recognition, glory, and being monetized didn’t play into it. but even though i’m just one person with one small web presence it does. this is why i try to stay as far away as possible from falling into “aesthetic” blogging, aesthetic-making/perpetuating really…but the unfortunate facts are that my words, my thoughts, my feelings have become or are destined to become, even as they flow out of my mind, an aesthetic. a style. a veneer. many people are ok with that and maybe i should be too. but i don’t like it. i want to be myself, unadulterated. but “myself” is also made up of tiny pieces of others, dead and living. i think it’s when a glossy layer, a veneer is created on the surface of that self, and that veneer is lifted off and cracked and pieces are dispersed among many…that that is the problem. i feel like social media maybe only can create and then deliver that glaze, that veneer of “style”, that recognizable coded “aesthetic” to others. i wish it could do something else. maybe i am wrong and it does. i am still thinking. thank you to @changdiaz again.
i agree and am also still thinking about it. i like to share, but the way we’ve been socialized to share and the media we have for doing so are so mired in the “free market” transactional model
i feel sorta guilty for going off but really this website is designed to turn its most creative users into free trendspotters for zero payoff other than narcissistic reward unless they're hustling super hard to monetize a brand and limit others' access to said brand (even if they contributed to it, or even if it's not something that belongs to them at all)...it just really reflects the same imperialistic structures that have existed for centuries
i’m extremely about this btw everyone seems to know who he is i just watched everything he did for the first time this week
Lotte Pritzel, 1914.
she didn’t have any social media to embarrass herself with so she could just do her. i didn’t even know she was like this until recently.
