the words catch her attention, and elize shifts, small frown settling over delicate, pale lips.
❛ a story? …your master? ❜
they were alike in the sense of not being human. but elize doesn’t know what else this girl shares with her. the dress and chains shifts again.
❛ what kind of story? ❜
Part of her is surprised by the interest her new acquaintance displays on the matter. And yet at the same time, Violette wonders if elaborating will hinder or help her search. She folds her hands together against the front of her skirt, eventually nodding her head. "Oui. He is unable to search for it himself, you see, so he has sent my sister and I in his stead."
She hesitates on going any further; it would be disgraceful to question someone who is all but a stranger on the matter of Monsieur Hiver's roman. "It is the story leading to his birth." Violette answers, before donning a smile and reversing the subject.
"And what of you, Elize? Has your master bid you some errand in this place?"
♀;;
a most interesting encounter. another small lady, like herself.
❛ elize. i’m elize. ❜
she watches the other girl warily. but curiously. hair swishes past bare shoulders in a lean.
❛ what are you doing all the way out here? ❜
"Out here?" Violette echoes, taking a thoughtful glance to their surroundings. She has not the concept of near verses far, but of the world as a whole. She travels over lakes and oceans and mountains, across the skies and through trees, always moving. Always searching. This is merely another step towards her goal.
"I could ask you the same question, mademoiselle Elize." A hint of playfulness, followed by a small sigh. "Ah, but it is not such a secret, I suppose. I am seeking the story of my master, wherever it may be."
Hello everyone!! I've finally finished cleaning out my (now indie) Therese von Ludowing blog! The pages aren't really done yet, but I hope to get to that tonight after doing a couple more Violette replies.
I figure I would link for anyone maybe interested in following uwu

ah someone had appeared.. a girl. a small girl. like herself. no way. elize hesitates, before her high voice cuts through the gloom.
❛ who… who are you? ❜
A simple enough question, but one bearing a heavy answer. It can be said that she is many things - a doll, a servant, one of two wandering windmills, among other things - but in that moment, she wonders which is most appropriate. Lifting her chin ever so slightly, she replies.
"My name is Violette. And you are...?"
☼ — How disappointing, Violette hadn’t seen the missing Hiver either. “ I simply found something interesting I thought he’d enjoy, ” She explained. I had wanted to show him before I left again. ” Something to help pass the time when she, well when they weren’t around to keep company. “ But I can’t seem to find him at all. ” A slight sign of defeat, it’d be easier to find a story in the desert then find him.
☾ — An answer she should have well expected. Hortense was just as concerned as Violette herself when it came to leaving monsieur Hiver alone to his own wanderings. It was important to leave him with something before they set out once more. With a small and thoughtful hum on her lips, she retracts to her sister's side. "It has been a while since we three have spent time with one another Shall we search for him together?"

the weather looked gloomy today; like the feelings churning in her heart. the doll’s eyes tracked the stranger’s movements; watching intently.
what business do you have here, silly human?
Dreary skies that dampen the sunlight; it is a day of retreat, of rest, of reprieve for humans and yet the likes of another emerge from the grey haze. Ah, what sort of story would this delicate lady bring her?
"It is quite rude to stare." Those eyes, much like her sister's, are full of Life and yet Violette does not turn away from them. "Is there something you would like of me, mademoiselle?"

☼ — “ Violette, have you see Monsieur anywhere? ” The doll furrowed her brow slightly. She had been searching for sometime for him but had no luck in actually finding him. Perhaps her sister doll had seen their Monsieur wandering around.
☾ — It is not uncommon for either one of them to be seeking their master at any given point; their mission may have been to seek out his story elsewhere but that did not mean they did not return to monsieur Hiver's side at all. However, Violette shook her head. "Not as of late," she replied truthfully. "Is there something that you need of him?"
ໃ - a VaniStar-esque AU (Modern "hey let's try to make it as a successful band" AU), please.
keenandfulloftricks a dit: ໃ Modern AU!
When he had suggested taking their hobby to a new level, Violette was immediately skeptical. They were only three siblings who sang in the comfort of a familiar crowd - and only for the pure pleasure of making music, at that. Their harmonies were infamous among close friends and family, though the fact that the trio was rhythmically endowed was no real secret to anyone who caught them humming their way through mundane tasks. But to attempt what hundreds of thousands of musicians already failed? Wasn’t that risking their happy, peaceful lives?
Of course, it was hard to say no when those two were pleading with her.
It was a rigorous process to get their names out there and to find a company willing to take them aboard their label. Violette would stand by passively, watching as her twin and their silver-haired brother sweet-talked and charmed representative after representative after representative until finally, they were signing their names across a few dozen dotted lines.
That was it - the moment the dream became “real.” And yet throughout the coming practices, recording sessions, promotional campaigns, (not to mention everything in between, from the hair, and makeup, and wardrobe, and photos, and interviews to a schedule that seemed to exclude the idea of sleep and a properly balanced diet) there was a hollow pit in her chest that would not go away.
For what reason am I singing?
It is well past midnight when she finds her answer. She is bathing in the moonlight on the veranda, watching the distant stars struggle to be seen in a city that is already so full of bright lights. A single glance over her shoulder, directed past the sliding glass door to where her siblings sprawl comfortably across the king-sized bed, (out cold, having given it three-hundred percent at their latest rehearsal that afternoon) and Violette feels all her apprehensions, all her fears, and all her sadness slip away. In its place comes a contented smile.
If it’s the three of them, together, then perhaps they really can aim straight for the sky and shine down on the whole world.
✿
She is cradled gently in arms so soft, so loving that it is near painful. In return for the warmth of such an embrace, Violette is unmoving, unblinking, unbreathing. She is completely still, as a doll should traditionally be. And yet by no means is she unseeing or unfeeling; on the contrary! She is observing and absorbing everything this gentle woman has to offer her, storing the sensations in both her memory and her (metaphorical) heart.
But then she is placed on a table, her rigid legs out straight in order to keep her upright. While the woman’s back is turned, Violette is left to wonder if this is the sort of behavior a “mother” innately has. Or rather, is this something that can be learned as “motherhood” is thrust upon these young women?
Gentle fingers are suddenly parting her hair and the answer to Violette’s question is left for later. Although she sits obediently there is a burning curiosity - one that is only satisfied when the woman turns her back again and the doll is left to peek at her reflection in a nearby window.
What Violette sees - herself, but with a new bonnet full of the flowers to which she is named - brings a resilient smile to her face.
Send me a ໃ and an AU and I'll give a random headcanon about that version of my muse

Such a young child, cursed with a miserable Daylight only to succumb to an unnatural moonlit eve. Why she still lingered in the land of the living, Violette could not say. But it was obvious to the Princess of Death that her “time,” so to speak, had long since been up. By nature the doll kept well company with spirits, (she understood their demise and the apprehensions around them easily, after all, and they found her to be less frightening than an most servants of Hades) but to do so made Violette anxious. All she wanted was for the ghosts to feel the full, true peacefulness of death and yet, it seemed as if she had little power to aid them.
Of course she wished the same fate for this little girl and had the same frustrations regarding her ineffectiveness. In spite of the lovely white flower that El had presented her with, she was filled with a resigned sort of…sadness.
"It is beautiful. Merci, mademoiselle." Violette took her hand, (finally, one closer to her own size) and offered a delicate smile."Before I must go, would you like to sit for a while? I have heard that you enjoy storybooks. It will not have pictures, I can tell you some stories of my own. How does this sound?”
"Once upon a time…"
✿
It was important to prioritize. Or so she had recently come to discover, at least. One could not do everything all at once, not when one’s body barely reached the hips of an adult. Indeed Violette was limited in many ways, but she was relentless in her repeated attempts to adapt. If she could learn to mingle among the characters of the world, to speak with and walk with and perhaps even join hands with those living folk, she was confident that she could learn to split her time efficiently.
Between that world and her master’s world, that is.
Recently she had begun to worry about monsieur Hiver’s mental health, and what stresses being all alone in the château might cause him. And so while not abandoning her mission to find his roman, she placed higher priority to visiting him on a regular basis.
It is upon one of these stays that Violette requests his help in brushing her long, golden locks, which had become disarrayed from the howling winter winds outside their secluded home. She hums happily at the feeling of the brush running through her hair and she doesn’t notice anything amiss until the sensation stops. "Monsieur?" Casting a glance over her shoulder brings a bubbling worry in her hallow stomach, for he is wearing a very odd expression. It is then that something falls into her lap; a petal, blackened with death.
A small gasp lips out as she reaches up to feel the brittle flowers in her hair. She is sure that in the temporary absence of her headband, (it lay not far away, on a small table) he had wanted to adorn her with fresh flowers. But while the dampened aroma of the violets might have unnerved her sister, Violette had now qualms with wearing something expired.
So she giggles, full of unadulterated delight. "Merci monsieur, merci!" She’s up on her feet as she thanks him. Without any hesitation she takes advantage of the fact that he is still seated and places a kiss on the cheek that has the same moon she bears.
✿
Although Violette and her sister travel separately in their quest to find monsieur Hiver’s roman, they are not entirely out of communication with one another. In fact, they are often sharing the stories they find - back and forth, back and forth across the Horizons. New and exciting tales of adventure and turmoil, of love and suffering, and of the innocence of youth.
There are places in which Hortense has visited that stick in Violette’s memory particularly well. As her original purpose makes her fond of children, it’s not entirely shocking to find her retracing her sister’s steps and visiting the grounds of an orphanage. There, hidden to most of the distracted youngsters, she cheerfully observes the older boys playing tag in the yard, and a girls of varying ages braiding each others hair. From her perch on the windowsill she is absorbed in the vibrancy of life here, reminded that although the morning light is often painful, there is also pleasure to be found.
It is at this revelation that the tiny blonde realizes she is not alone. "You are - " A girl, dark haired with a distinctive red ribbon and a similarly colored flower in her hands. Her lips are parted to protest but the words are not as quick, allowing the other to slip the bud into her hair. Now now that the deed is done, Violette cannot find it in her to refuse such a sweet child. "Merci beaucoup, mademoiselle. How very kind of you!"
"If you are not busy, perhaps you can show me where you picked it?"
✿
The scent of flora mix and for a moment, she is startled by the looming presence behind her. It is only for a moment - a second - but even so, she twirls around expecting to find some sort of assailant. Very few beings, human or otherwise, have the ability to surprise the ever-vigilant Violette, so who else could it be?
Except, she is wrong and the person standing there is none other than a fair, blonde beauty. "Princesse!" She exclaims with dabs of confusion in her wide, bright eyes and on the corners of her curved lips. "What are you…?"
But then she sees how simultaneously pleased the young mother seems to be and how focused on her hair she is. Although Violette has absolutely no reason to fear Rose, she is quite obviously cautious as she reaches up to feel her hairband. Nothing seems unusual until her small fingers glide over petals that in no way mimic the feel of violets. And that’s when she realizes the new addition, the princess’s namesake.
The doll laughs at her own skeptical nature and how, out of all the species of plant life to grow in this world, of course the youthful madame would gift her with a rose. "I will be sure to cherish it."
