NEVER HAD SOMETHING IN HER FAITH been so shaken right down to her very core. Navigating through the Temple had felt like life being breathed into weary bones, like she just inhale and smell the THOUSANDS of years of history right underneath her feet. Adiva was devout. That was no secret, as many in Skyhold had seen her in prayer in the gardens EVERY DAY. She prayed, every day, without fail. It wasn’t just at Skyhold either, that she prayed. When she was traveling, she would make time in the morning just after waking up. If she hadn’t slept, she made time in her day before dragging herself along. Adiva was DEVOUT. It wasn’t something that could really be taken away from her despite her shiny new position of power within the Inquisition, and it was certainly not something that she could BETRAY in the very Temple of Mythal.
Even though Corypheus’ forces, led by Sampson--who’s armor she’d studied late into the night with Cullen on several occasions--desecrated the temple and had to fight their way through the ancient warriors, Adiva COULDN’T and wouldn’t do that. She made her way through each of the puzzles carefully and was met with SCRUTINY ( though she could hardly blame them ). Adiva, too, treated strangers with little regard to their greater purpose when they stumbled upon her hunting grounds in the Approach.
But nothing felt quite as surreal as when she stood in between Morrigan, Abelas, and the Well, having already made up her mind that they NEEDED this to fight Corypheus, but having a distinct and overwhelming crestfallen feeling surround her as she realized that Abelas and the sentinels of the temple would be driven out of it without a purpose to stay there any longer. ❛ Come with us, ❜ she said, stepping forward and slinging her bow over her back. ❛ You COULD come with us. To the Inquisition. To fight Corypheus. ❜

NO MATTER HOW CAREFUL YOU ARE, THERE’S GOING TO BE THE SENSE THAT YOU MISSED SOMETHING, THE COLLAPSED FEELING UNDER YOUR SKIN THAT YOU DIDN’T EXPERIENCE IT ALL. THERE’S THAT FALLEN HEART FEELING THAT YOU RUSHED THROUGH THE MOMENTS WHERE YOU SHOULD’VE BEEN PAYING ATTENTION. WELL, GET USED TO THAT FEELING. THAT’S HOW YOUR WHOLE LIFE WILL FEEL SOME DAY.
THIS IS ALL PRACTICE.

XIM’S HAIR WAS SPRAWLED OUT across her lap and even though she sat on the top of his desk and he was leaned back against it on the floor, he was still more than tall enough for her to braid his hair. If she’d have sat in a chair, in fact, he would be TOO TALL for her to reach. ❛ At home, ❜ she started, pulling the tendrils of his soft hair through her fingers, ❛ we braid hair up off the nape of the neck. ❜ Gently, she put her fingers to the back of his neck before she continued weaving his hair together on the crown of his head. ❛ Keeps it from getting too hot in the sun. ❜ Since she’d come to Ferelden she hadn’t braided her hair ONCE and that was the real tragedy here. It was too cold to do one of her clan braids in her hair or wear her harem pants and walk around barefoot. Her feet were even starting to smell and it was absolutely the WORST. The sooner she could get out of the mountains the more comfortable she would be.
