unsure how much u still go here but any asoue thoughts? for o specifically... or anybody :] favorite hcs?
oh i will ALWAYS be going to asoue. always and forever, my beloved snicket man
for o (I ASSUME THIS O IS OLAF) specifically.........i was thinking a lot about virginian-wolfsnake's headcanon post recently, about olaf having a sister and her dying very young, and him not remembering her but feeling her absence and how that influences his family.......i think that gels so well with what we know of olaf's family, or what we construct it to be, but also how vfd works. like, i think vfd is dynastic, for a lot of families. olaf's in particular, also ramona's, because they're some form of 'royalty' and it makes sense with the public perception of vfd/how vfd also exists in the background. the idea of the count and countess losing a child but in a different way than other families "lose" children to vfd (and the death being entirely unrelated to vfd) and what that does to the way they think of olaf..........and where beatrice fits in, with olaf and bea being so close!! a lot in there!!
for other headcanons.......i think his and esme's relationship (whatever 'relationship' means is one long power struggle where neither of them can come out on top. they're always trying to get one over on the other, even when they're working together. i can do this better than you, i know more about x or y than you, i can manipulate or act better than you (although. i do think esme is a better actor), i hate beatrice more than you, i knew beatrice more than you. but they're still tied together.
i think he made the green room of the local theater his home, at around 19ish. not necessarily that he lived there, but he spent most of his time there, and backstage in general. knowing vfd, it was, in fact, probably legitimately green. i think beatrice did too, but not nearly as much.
he definitely liked ernest way more than ernest liked him (ernest did Not like him, at all). but he also definitely, like.......i think if olaf likes someone, he still thinks he's better than them. he thinks he did the whole defecting thing better than ernest (in what way, man??????? idk).
to be completely honest *starts lying
well I would never turn away a woman who means me harm. come right in ma’am
*introducing myself to the guards who caught me* seized to meet you
free my girl she did all that and that’s what makes her such a compellingly complex character. that’s her essence

the Relationship Ambiguity Zone™️ is a beautiful place to be. safe place to put your characters. put all characters into Relationship Ambiguity Zone. is that guy your mentor or your dad? Ambiguous!!! are you friends or enemies? Ambiguous!!! is it romantic? is it platonic? is it sexual? Ambiguous!!!!!!! never categorize anything ever in the Relationship Ambiguity Zone. just make them fucking weird about each other.

just thought about the denouement triplets whilst listening to willing and able by noah kahan SOMEBODY SEDATE ME
i'm gonna throw up why would he write this about f&e
Now that we are getting Lestat as a narrator in the show I’m thinking about how Armand described the way Lestat tells his own stories bc it’s funny
“[…] he would appear sooner or later and tell us some fantastical yarn. It would be regular Lestat talk, for nobody aggrandizes as he does his preposterous adventures. This is not to say that he hasn’t [done the things he claims] I know that he did. […] But it’s the way he describes things that happen to him that maddens me, the way he connects one incident to another as though all these random and grisly occurrences were in fact links in some significant chain. They are not. They are capers. And he knows it. But he must make a gutter theatrical out of stubbing his toe.
The James Bond of the Vampires, the Sam Spade of his own pages! A rock singer wailing on a mortal stage for all of two hours […].
He has a knack for making tragedy of tribulation, and forgiving himself for anything and everything in every confessional paragraph he pens.”
i love it when people are in their thirties that's so sexy of you
i DO believe that a good writer can make mischaracterization work. oh there's a character who doesn't normally cry? figure it out!! disect the character. make the situation cryable for them. make that character cry ugly tears even if it goes against their very nature. YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK!!!
beatrice and bertrand are both dead. lemony is gone and never coming back. monty is dead. josephine is dead. gustav is dead, olivia is dead. jacques is dead. once brave people reduced to cowards. a whole headquarters in ashes, libraries and hospitals and carnivals in ruins. and kit is alive despite herself. like a punishment. there are many, many wicked people in the world, more and more every day, but there’s a thought in the back of her mind: what if all this comes down to just the one wicked person? the same one who gave her his mother’s ring once as a promise, and then a few years later threw it furiously into the sea. the one who kissed her on the forehead and then a few years later screamed at her that one day they’d all pay.
me seeing a take i disagree with and piously allowing it to pass (mostly) unremarked upon: I'm sort of like a modern day saint
