Do you see the fear, people? This boy is scared to death of the truth.

I really liked Barbie. But something about Margot Robbie following a very strict diet to stay skinny (and sharing the exact diet regime with the whole world) for the role and Ryan Gosling having these abs that we know actors have heavily dehydrate themselves for while the movie preaches more positivity and acceptance kinda rubs me the wrong way tbh.
I find the fact that the Barbie movie is simultaneously being criticized by the right as “too radical”, and criticized by the left as “too nice to men” and/or “too pandering”, quite funny, given that America’s WHOLE SPEECH was about how, no matter what women (like the director of the Barbie movie) do, it will simultaneously always be too little and too much.
Barbie saying I don't feel perfect anymore and how she never has been president or written a book or done something important and that absolutely struck a cord with me that I started tearing up in the movie theater. I felt seen just by that moment of barbie being vulnerable.
“I Hate Pretty Women”
CW: surgery, ED talk, sexual talk, sad vibes in general
I enjoy putting my thoughts into the world, it’s the only thing that removes them from my head. But I also do not want to burden my loved ones. And so here I semi-anonymously pour my heart out. Please don’t mind any misspellings or cross-outs.
Barbie movie never said "we need to stop men" it said "we need to stop toxic masculinity" and if that made you feel called out I got some news for you
