I saw someone else point this out on TikTok so it’s not original thoughts from me but I haven’t stopped thinking about it. But it’s just so funny that Toph never really has reasons to go out and be fighting. She doesn’t really have a temper. She’s not angry and you can’t really make her angry easily. You can’t really provoke her to fight like you could, say, Katara who will absolutely start beating ass if you make her mad enough. Toph is chill. She also grew up rich and about as away from the war as you could get. She didn’t feel the looming threat of the Fire Nation or other threats or have to fend for herself or was raised in a warrior culture. Girl truly just wants to fight.
