If that anon is concerned about the amount of time T took to speak up, then anon is not concerned about Black Lives AT ALL. This is not a trend. No matter how late or how early you post it IT DOESNT MATTER. This is an advocacy and I agree with you Virtchy. Instead of waiting for your fav to post why not direct that energy supporting that movement, instead of keeping watch at the celebrities that tweet or post. I hope everyone can make a change.
Honestly we have to stop giving these influencers so much power over our lives. It’s fine to be a fan but at the end of the day you need to stay grounded in reality and realize you don’t know these people and they’re words don’t mean shit.
Look at Ariana Grande, Tessa Thompson, Madison Beer, Kehlani, Halsey, etc out there fucking DOING shit that’s REAL because they’re not just using their privelaged platform to spit out some words that aren’t gonna do anything. That’s what we all need to be doing right now!
Actions are how things get accomplished. Look at our history and how we’ve evolved. The only way to enact change is through action especially in situations like this where the oppressed voices are constantly silenced. More words and peaceful protests aren’t going to do anything.
We shouldn’t care about what some privelaged white people have to say on social media because social media is not going to change a damn thing no matter how many celebrities write 5 paragraph think pieces on how wrong the world is.
If your life decisions and morals are hinged on what some person you don’t even personally know posts on social media you need to do some soul searching.
They have done nothing to earn that type of influence over your life. Stop giving it to them! Be your own influence and help take actual action in the real world and help change it for the better.
