A smile grew even bigger on his face, he was being so kind to him. This was definitely different than how his classmates treated him… it was heartwarming. 

“If you’re certain…” To be truthful he was a little nervous about it, what if he didn’t like him after it? Trying to ignore those negative thoughts in his mind, he walked over to him. Ever so gently he placed his arms around, barely even touching Chihiro. Kiibo never wanted to make him uncomfortable.

“ I’m certain! ” The smile that grows on Kiibo’s face is enough to brighten even his own. Chihiro had always loved making people happy, and to see it coming from such a simple gesture... it was the sort of happiness he just couldn’t ignore.

“ Ehehe, you don’t have to be so cautious. I-I know I’m frail, but I shouldn’t break from this much... Plus, hugs are nice, aren’t they? ” With that, he returns the hug with the smallest laugh.

To say Chihiro is accustomed to the cold would be a bit of a lie. Of course, the layered outfits and warmth that came about from it is something he’s familiar with--thankful for, even. But he hasn’t accumulated that same stash of winter weather gear quite yet, and he finds himself shivering, pulling his jacket onto himself with hope of just a little bit more warmth. But surprisingly enough, there was Owada, offering just what he’d been missing.

“ This is... For me? ” His entire expression brightens, not unlike a puppy. “ Thank you! This is just what I needed... Ehehe, you’re so kind, Owada! I’m so glad! ” And he wastes no time in bundling up with the clothing item, shooting a bright grin at his friend all the while.

“Fujisaki…You can’t be serious?! How can you say somethin’ like that?! If anythin’ I made it all about me! I…I saw how strong you were an’ I…I freaked out- You didn’ do nothin’ to deserve anythin’ that happened. Not ever-”

“You didn’ deserve to die! Jus’ because- Jus’ because I’m n-not…not strong…” He trailed off, voice cracking again. That was the crux of it. “You came to me for help, but you just n-needed the method, not the strength. You were strong jus’ for comin’ to me, an’….An’ it made me so mad…’Cause I’m…I’m not–” A big sniffle erupted from the much taller male.

“Y’ didn’t….Deserve that. Y’didn’t deserve any of that, an’…An’ it should be ‘bout you, y’know?! I did you wrong…An’…An’ I tried t’keep your secret…I tried my best…” Yet another failure weighing on his shoulders

“But I couldn’t do it, an’ then everyone knew…I…I put you in the girl’s room an’ everythin’…Maybe they coulda figured it out without knowin’…But then shit happened and….an’…”

“…I coulda kept it secret by confessin’…But I was…I was so scared. I didn’ mean for it…For any of it to get that far. For any of it to happen..I’m…I’m sorry…Y’don’t have to…You shouldn’t forgive me, Fujisaki, but I’m…I’m more sorry than I ever been in my life. There was…there was other shit I was runnin’ from, but I can’t run here…I can’t run away…B-but I can barely face you…Jus’…Jus’ tell me to leave and never look at you again, alright?! Jus’ tell me you never wanna see my orry face ‘round this place, ‘cause you don’t need someone like me. Someone too weak to face himself, when you faced yourself–…”

Chihiro falls silent now, biting down on his bottom lip to will away the tears. This attempt ultimately fails, and he wipes at his eyes with his sleeve instead. There’s a small sniff as he listens to Mondo speak, but in the end, even he manages to, at last, meet Mondo’s eyes. There’s a sadness there, as he tries to find words, but he hopes it’s enough for now.

Come to think of it, why had he been so adamant about finding his murderer of all people...? The answer is startlingly obvious, and he finds himself letting that very realization slip from his thoughts and into the open.

“ I... I just... Wanted to apologize... For making you angry... A-And... ” You can’t exactly say ‘making you a murderer’ out loud, can you? “ If I hadn’t pushed you like that... If I could’ve been strong enough to see that... None... ” He looks away to choke back a sob, but returns his gaze immediately after, considerably more panicked and tearful than before. “ None of this would’ve happened! S-So... If you hate me, that’s... ”

He trails off here, allowing the silence to be filled by the other’s words. Chihiro doesn’t know what to say, what to think, what to do, but he listens. And tries to understand. And it strikes him then, hearing that uncharacteristic display from the man he’d seen so much strength in, that... Weren’t they saying the same thing? 

The realization brings the smallest pieces of confidence, and though his face is still streaked with tears, something about his expression is set with a new emotion. “ O-Owada... ” It’s spoken in a shaky tone, a soft and nervous voice doing its best to quell emotions between the two of them.

“ You’re the strongest person I know. Really... A-And... ” This sort of thing is new to him, but isn’t this what he’d like to hear in this sort of situation? “ And just facing me now... L-Like I did with you... U-Uhm... Isn’t that pretty strong? ” Memories of their last encounter spin, but with the way his legs shake with nerves, Chihiro couldn’t flee if he wanted to. “ I... I don’t want to tell you to never----... I... I’m not making any sense... B-But... I think what I’m trying to say is... ” He swallows nervously, running his hands over his skirt to calm his nerves. 

“ T-Thank you. For trying to keep my secret up until now. But... It’s not any good to.... To see you so sad, s-so... Maybe we should both... Find methods to get stronger together...? I-Is that too presumptuous? ”

frost blue: does your muse enjoy the snow and cold? or are they the type to enjoy summer more?

for reasons of his secret, chihiro tends to be more comfortable in the cold. layering up in warm, oversized outfits tends to draw away any chance of being suspected of being anything but a girl. besides, summer tends to imply playing outside—something he’s long since avoided due to a mixture of his frail nature and the bullies who’d pick on him for it. so though he doesn’t fare well with cold in general, the inconvenience of a little frosty weather is much better than the alternative.

not counting “maybe dont corner mondo owada in a locker room and tell him your biggest secret out of the blue, it doesn’t end well”? 

it’s taken a long time, and he still struggles with his own image. but in the end, chihiro would tell his past self that its okay—he is strong enough to do whatever he needs. and uh. hey. in the words of our great mondo mun, chihiro’s got the strength, he just needs to find the method. 

crimson: how passionate is your muse about the things they love most?

HES REALLY PASSIONATE especially about computers and programming! he’s been known to go off on tangents about it without really stopping for someone to get a word in edgewise. he always feels awful whenever he does this, but it really shows how much he loves it!!
