freddievalence:
the outdoors had always spoken to freddie. they were his first friend in childhood, as he had spent much more time playing in the woods near the old valence family home than he had indoors studying. this morning, he had not been able to fight the urge to explore the grounds a bit, though he had made sure to bundle up, as it was quite cold outside. as he approached the pond, he noticed a young woman sitting by it. it surprised him, given the weather and the time. “are you alright, miss?” he asked, wondering for a moment if perhaps something had happened to cause her distress.
vivian spent most of her childhood chasing after her sisters. all of which had a habit of exploring the grounds and getting themselves into trouble. eliza especially could be found up in a tree or wading int eh pond. and of course, vivian was always the one to go after her to make sure she was alright. wherever her sisters went vivian followed. now that they were capable of taking car eof themselves vivian found herself returning to place such as this where she used to watch over them. spooked by the sudden voice, she flinched and turned. then embarrassed by her sudden reaction, she attempted to play it off with a bashful smile. “quite alright, thank you. i just enjoy quiet mornings is all. my household is often frightfully lively at all times of day and night so i retreat here.”
