people are clowning on this guy on reddit but uhhh let's pause for a minute and ask...so what happens if someone has a skin condition? what if part of their face has been burned? what if they're missing their eyes? and so what if they just have a fuckton of tattoos? recognition algorithms are aligned with the most ""average"" / ""normal"" features which means any deviation gets denied access to shit we didnt need age verification for 1 year ago. i dont care if it's a choice versus not, dont care if it's accessing porn or wikipedia, this needs to stop
I think my problem is I don’t like putting black/poc reader in my cw cause the wh!te ppl don’t. Especially when they STILL write readers who obviously blush, who have straight hair, who have this wh!te experience and no one questions them about it. Meanwhile I “have” to do it to appease people who don’t look like me.
I won’t do it. 
You just gonna have to read what I wrote and get to those reader descriptions mid story and be gagged.
I’ve been asked about putting ‘black/poc!reader’ in my cw or asked ‘why don’t you just write with no descriptions and be inclusive?’
Inclusivity does not mean erasing every trait all the time, it’s about celebrating the differences. So me putting in eye color or hair texture descriptions shouldn’t cause all this panic. Me writing readers that are black/poc coded shouldn’t make you piss your pants or stray away from reading it because it’s a little different from the norm.
On top of that, unless you’re intention is to read works with black/POC readers (and a lot of the time it’s to let readers know about the writers intended audience), tf do you, as a white person, need a warning for?
