That’s what my mom told me.
Eyes wide, Ben pointed to the black blob that had just shown itself. “What the heck is that?”
“What him?” Eddie gestured to the symbiote, feigning ignorance, “--oh, that’s just my uh---” Venom looked on expectantly, waiting to hear Eddie’s genius excuse, “--yeah I got nothing. He’s an alien.”
“Writer’s block, Eddie?” Venom teased.
Immediately turning his attention to their guest, Venom grinned followed by a completely deserved eyeroll from Eddie, “Oh there is definitely something wrong with you...”
“Don’t be a dick, man. Leave him alone.”
Venom screeched in distress before quickly letting go of the man with a harsh flick of his wrist in order to dislodge the bony claws from his own alien flesh. Scrambling backward to create a bit of distance between the two before the other inevitably decided to strike again, Venom quickly retreated back inside Eddie’s body. “Come ON man! You’re really gonna wuss out like this?” He yelled in frustration to the cowering symbiote.
“Wait! Wait wait--- you- you watch my show?” Eddie asked, tone intrigued but now significantly softened.
You have fans? This truly is a bizarre planet.
“Oh can it--” Eddie chided the symbiote under his breath.
“That’s more accurate than you realize,” Eddie admitted, Venom chittering in amusement at the back of his mind.
Eddie shook his head, gently swatting at the symbiote with the back of his hand, “--can’t take you anywhere.”
Venom chuckled, the sound deep, bassy, and moderately unsettling, “You don’t really have much of a choice.”
“I’m not so sure decently is enough,” Eddie chuckled, lips twisting into a wry smile as he could feel Venom’s tendrils emerging from his arms, curling around the tips of his fingers.
“Then I apologize in advance,” Eddie grinned, the action not quite reaching his eyes.
I’m comfortable, Eddie. I think I’ll just stay here-- regardless of how rude you’re being.
The corners of Eddie’s mouth lifted into a slight friendly smile, despite the answer to Gwen’s question churning in his gut, “--sounds like a good idea.” A slight pause followed before Eddie continued, Venom somehow content with just watching on and listening, “Just a lead on a story,” he shrugged, not quite sure of the details he was able to disclose.
“Although, maybe you’d be more likely to understand---” with you being an alien and all. “--I've got uh- a hitchhiker.” Venom grumbled in annoyance but Eddie shook it off.
Eddie raised an eyebrow, nodding at her lack of reaction, before allowing Venom to continue.
“I am Venom--” the symbiote replied, blinking at Ava behind large, glinting teeth, “-and you look tasty.”

“I know Venom’s probably got me beat with that bigass tongue of his, but I can do that stupid cherry stem trick– never really shared it with anyone but Annie though.”
Eddie that’s disgusting. You’re disgusting.

“Everyone else can hear this voice too, right? Right.”
Eddie couldn’t help but chuckle, “Oh god, what’s he tellin’ you?”
“Let’s just say he’s the voice in my head. The one that’s not mine.”
“Operate? You some sort of robot?”
