“What? Someone had to say to say it.”
“Not if it’s rude! C’mon!”
nmiinorus:
“No. Absolutely not.”
“I-- well-- okay--” Johnny didn’t want to make things worse, but it felt wrong to leave it alone. “Do you.. want to talk about it?”
nmiinorus:
“That’s the superpower you’d pick?”
“Well technically I already have a superpower. I would just be adding what I already have-- that’s the difference. Why, do you have a better idea?”
thewxsp:
“You could always develop a serum to put on your hands to give you a similar sensation.”
“Wait-- that’s actually kind of genius. Why didn’t I think of that? Though I’m not sure if I’m smart enough to pull that off.”
blackxwidxw:
Peter. God, he was young. If there was any way Natasha had wanted to see him go, it wasn’t blindly following Tony into battle. Again. His secret weapon from Queens, the kid who had a big heart and nothing left as no trace of him had ever been recovered. Lost in space, killed by Thanos, turned to dust. There was no way to know as the only other person who would have had an idea had vanished right alongside him. “He was good at what he did. Inexperienced, but good.”
“That’s what I’ve heard. He seemed like a good kid.” Johnny shrugged, pulling back a few loose curls behind his ear. “I’m a bit sad I never got to meet him. You worked with him sometimes, right?”
thewxsp:
“I most definitely am.” Nadia’s head bounced up and down as she nodded. “Well, for a number of reasons. First we thought it was too dangerous to explore and my father lost his second wife there but she’s alive and now people have gone in and out so we can explore and mine quantum energy for our friend the ghost.”
“Alright I get it-- lost people getting found, and a way to heal someone else. Sounds like a win-win. I just don’t get the ghost part-- do you mean a legit ghost or am I thinking into it too much?”
marymjwatson:
“It definitely is. The webbing is cool too. I loved it all.”
“That webbing always looked fun to work with. I don’t know how much use I would have for it though. I’m guessing your boy took you swinging around the city a bunch, hm?”
bbombshells:
“Boring. There’s too many Spider-men out there as it is.”
“Who cares, though? Really! Why does it matter how many there are?”
thebetterhawk:
“Right. Thank god we can still kick it with lowlives and toss them behind bars.”
“Sometimes I feel like I enjoy the job a little too much. And then other’s it feels like it’s all too much. Kinda wish it would find its happy medium.”
itsybitsyarachne:
“Really? You don’t think the world has enough spider people?”
“I’m a psuedo-spider person so I wouldn’t really be adding to the numbers. If that makes you feel any better.”
itsybitsyarachne:
“Are you set on the former part of that statement? Trust me, kiddo, I wish I could but I have a commitment. I graduated Hail Hydra High School and Nick Fury University. I know what it’s like to be young and clueless.”
Johnny rolled his eyes. “I’m young, but I’m not a kid anymore-- so yes, I’m set on it. But I admire your dedication. I don’t know if I would be able to handle all that responsibility.”
ghcstspider:
“You never really forget what it feels like.” Gwen finished quietly. You couldn’t forget it at all. “Yeah? You in the dead loved ones club as well?”
“My mom.” It still hurt. She was right-- you don’t ever forget what it feels like. “She was the only one to really believe me as a kid. Who did you lose?”
ghcstspider:
“I don’t know personally, but I heard once from someone somewhere that it’s a little overrated and super inconvenient at first.”
“Uh-huh.” Johnny shot her an accusatory glance with a raised brow. “And would this person say that she eventually got used to it?”
vinoctibus:
“I used to be. I don’t suppose that I am anymore. It’s all been very complicated. Now, who’s your friend?”
“My girlfriend, actually. Her name’s Cassie. She always explains it like she’s dead still-- so maybe it is different from what you’re going through.”
elementxlle:
“You’re most certainly not. Finally, someone who appreciates silence.”
“Okay well you’re wrong there-- silence isn’t usually my thing. All I meant is that I can’t speak for you. I can speak for myself probably more than I should.”
xdusks:
“You’re lucky I like you because that’s lame as hell.”
“You do realize I’m basically mutant Spider-Man, right? Kind of. There are similarities! It’s not lame!”
xdusks:
“Don’t worry, I bring it everywhere with me. My mom used to tell me I’d get lines from frowning so much.” Cassie said, a brief twinge passing through her when she thought of her parents. She had never really been close with them, but the fact that they thought she was dead ( which she technically was ) still settled strangely when she tried to understand the full implication. “But that’s ancient history, isn’t it?”
“Oh what-- you mean these lines right here?” Johnny gently touched a thumb to her cheeks and cupped her face, all while sporting a teasing grin. “Yeah you better watch out for those. It’s the worst case I’ve ever seen.”
“Our parents are definitely ancient history. I try not to think about it but.. that’s easier said than done, isn’t it?”
