"You can't shovel other people's shit for them, not unless they're willing to pick up a shovel and help." -Anita Blake
During her lifetime, Lina Cavalieri (1874-1944) was often referred to as the most beautiful woman alive. She grew up in an Italian orphanage, and ran away to join a touring theatre company when she was a teenager. Moving to Paris and then to New York City, she became a popular opera singer, appeared in silent films, and published a book of beauty tips. She returned to Italy late in her life, and though she was in her mid-sixties when WWII broke out, she volunteered as a nurse. She was killed during an Allied bombing while she was trying to run to an air-raid shelter.
She is the model for Piero Fornasetti’s Tema e Variazioni series. During the 1950s, Fornasetti saw her face in an old magazine and created more than 350 images of her.
"A woman will forget that a man is male, if they are good enough friends, but men rarely forget that a woman is feminine." - Anita Blake
But I have been long away from you, and I have learned that beauty is not always what it seems, that lust is not always better than love, that power alone is not enough to fill the bed or the heart, and that I don't have your patience for the politics." - Jean-Claude
Silk didn't care if it slid over scars or smooth, untouched skin.
Morals
Caleb's eyes were a little wide. I think I'd shocked him. Good to know that I could. "You're deeply moral," Merle said, a tone in his voice like he was surprised. "My own version of it, yeah." "You hold to your own rules no matter what?" Merle made it a question. I nodded. "Most of the time." "What will make you break your own moral code?" "Harm to my people, survival, the usual."

"I can only solve one problem at a time," I said. "Most people let themselves be distracted." "I'm not most people.

"Personally, I think neutral is just another way of saving your own ass at the expense of someone else's."

I don't trust anyone in all things.

"If you love someone, then your freedom is curtailed. If you love someone, you give up much of your privacy. If you love someone, then you are no longer merely one person but half of couple. To think or behave any other way is to risk losing that love."
