I'm a Horror and Dark Fantasy Writer in addition to being a visual artist. I also do fan related content for Legacy of Kain. Most of my days are spent working in the medical field, but I always find myself drifting away to other worlds through my passions. If you like what I do and would like to help support my work, then feel free to "buy me a coffee"... or help keep the lights on around here. buymeacoffee.com/thevoidgazerslibrary
Does every artist/writer have a Cyber Security friend?
I keep seeing this and it just makes me chuckle. So many posts on social media calling out scams with something to the effect of: "My friend in cyber security informed me that this is a scam."
Is this like a qualification to being an artist? Do you get an assigned buddy when you start?
I just find it amusing: also — I married my Cyber Security friend :)
In reference to Harry Potter and how transphobic individuals just love to shove it in our faces.
I just want to clarify that you can separate the art from the artist. Hell, several of the big-name actors in that franchise are genuinely amazing people and have taken it upon themselves to donate, support, and defend the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe that's genuinely amazing.
However, these "certain groups" of people, (I won't call out names, take it how you will. If you know, you know.) have made Harry Potter into an absolute demon of a franchise because every damn time we flat out say "hey, the writer is shitting on a minority group, I'm not supporting them." then we get something to the effect of: "WeLl You NEeD tO LEArn How To seParaTE The ART fROM the ARTIST!!"
It's nauseating for multiple reasons...
I personally still love Harry Potter, I grew up with it, both the books and movies. I do enjoy the originals and believe they did incredibly well... Does that mean I'm going to give the transphobic author another red cent of my money and support after what she's done? F##k no!
The sad part about it all is that I don't personally believe she ruined her own franchise. I think many of us could have just simply walked away with what we got and left the physical representative of Voldemort in the dust, and been happy with that. No, it was the transphobic dimwits that ruined it because they have taken to adopting it into their political agenda and using it as a "gotcha" weapon to throw in the face of a small, and vulnerable minority of people.
I'm seeing it more and more now, and it just sucks...
This is the prologue to one of the books I'm currently working on: Hang Man. Although a long ways off, I am excited to explore my own little vampire story with some interesting genres.
This is, although comically so, what I would describe as a Vampire Western story.
Without giving away too much, a vampire from times long ago gets tied up in a mystery of murder and revenge that's plaguing a small, and remote Western town. Murdock has spent many years among humans due to his curse, trying to right the wrongs of his past through helping those he sees in need. However, he has grown cold due to his lengthy history on this earth, and must find a way to care for the lives and souls of others if he is going to solve the mysteries of the town he's stumbled into.
Again, this is a long way off, but I figured you guys would enjoy a little peak for the beginning of this project. Also, I received a review that posting white pages was difficult on some viewers eyes. I apologize for that and hope the black pages work better for you :)
Hard but fair. Just means I'll have to release a symbolic "Bible" for my work like Tolkien did... Or just ramble about it on social media. I'll take either :)
“Here lies Kain Ashmore of Coorhagen, first of his name. May his soul return to the halls of the heavens. 1230 to 1260.”
Hard to believe we're already getting close to the Battle of the Last Stand. Only a few chapters away now, and soon we'll see King Ottmar and his dilemma with his young daughter.
In this chapter, we have a moment of peace as Kain begins the long trek back to the Pillars from Malek's retreat. Many guardians have fallen, but now we see a much more human consequence to the state of the world as Kain travels dangerously close to his former kingdom.
We meet many new faces of his once royal court; however, if you've played the games, these faces may seem a little too familiar.
Edit: I fixed it, but the fact that autocorrect turned "Malek" into "Mark" is hilarious. My bad.

Chapter 12 for The Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen is now live!
In this chapter, we witness the final battle between old foes, and a civilization brought to extinction by the hands of the Vampire race. Many fall, and few walk away with only the fleeting ashes to remind them of the consequences revenge truly holds.

We are back to regular updates to the Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen Novelization.
There will also be another chapter upload tomorrow, 12:00pm MDT, and going forward we will continue with the Friday posts until this novel has been posted in its entirety.
In this chapter, Kain and Magnus hunt down and face multiple guardians within their own stronghold of Dark Eden. Calling upon dark powers and new allies to aid them, they traverse the volcanic landscape to stop the corrupted guardians from using their magics to consume the land of Nosgoth.
Been a minute, but as of this week, I'm getting back into posting and keeping my page up to date.
Long story short; my wife and I have moved into our own place, we've both been settling in to a new State in the US, and I myself have been settling in to a new job. It has been extremely stressful as moving always is, but the good news is this new job has opened up a lot of free time for me to focus more on my passion for writing. I can not tell you how relieved I am to have found a job that has taken mountains of stress off of my shoulders as compared to my old one. Balancing full time employment with my dream of being a full time writer has been extremely difficult, but with my new schedule, I believe this is now a much more attainable possibility.
Now, keep in mind that this is only a floater date for now, but I am hoping I can release my novel in August. With my artist finishing up the final illustration as I type this, I'm hopeful that I'll have everything ready to go by then, including some promotional materials, and a narrator for the novel (currently pending, I've reached out to a few people I know personally.)
On the note of the Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen Novelization, things are actually a bit strange right now. I may have found a publisher willing to take on the project for physical release; however, this is not for certain. A lot of things need to fall into place for this to happen, so it's up in the air as of right now.
Either way, don't worry: I will still be releasing chapters on AO3, and will still give you all the content. I'll be posting a chapter some time today, and will be posting one tomorrow as well.
In the meantime, I will be posting a schedule for this feed soon. Thank you all for being here throughout this mess of a journey :).
I reached out to my narrator today, wanting to share my excitement about my book being so close to being published. Originally, my novel was just a one-off post on NoSleep, just something I wanted to write about without any care of quality.
I didn't have a lot of faith in myself as a writer, but one man reached out and wanted to narrate my story for his YouTube channel. One man put faith in me when I was at my lowest, and gave me the encouragement to pursue my dreams.
Dead Man Talking, Forest of Fear was his YouTube channel, however he was known by his community as Luke Penton. On October 10th, he was driving his motorcycle home to his family when he was hit by a drunk driver and passed away before he could see his family. He had a wife and children...
I am deeply heartbroken by this loss. I didn't even know he had passed until I reached out and found the posts from his family, friends and fans.
If you guys would like to hear him, and see the loving community he formed, please go take a look. He will be greatly missed.
Thank you, Luke. Thank you for giving this depressed writer the encouragement to keep trying. You brought my characters to life from the very first draft, and that is something I will never forget.
My artist is currently working on the very last illustration for the novel!
Once this last piece is done, it's a few test prints, then an announcement date for publication. I am extremely excited as after 4 years of sitting on this book, it will finally be a published work as my debut novel.
I'll be posting updates of the test prints, and once everything is up to standard, I'll be posting a release date.
I genuinely can't believe we are so close to this being done!
Please be sure to go check out my artist, they have put so much time into this.
Just wanted to share something nice that happened to me.
I know, I haven't been on for a bit. As I mentioned in one of my other updates, things have been rough and I've been focusing mainly on my family while I try to move me and my wife somewhere safe. On the upside, things are moving in the right direction, both personally and in terms of my book, so progress is still being made, no matter how slow.
I plan on posting an official update on the progress tomorrow to get everyone up to speed, along with some Legacy of Kain chapters for readers to enjoy.
However; something happened that damn near broke me — in a good way, but still. As I'm writing this I'm trying not to cry.
I was bellyaching on Reddit the other day: granted, not the best idea, but at the moment it was a good outlet just to talk about what's been bothering me.
I talked about the horrible state of my teeth, and the fact that I have no dental insurance that would cover care for them. I live in a State where dental care is considered cosmetic only, and that means it's very hard to come by, and dental costs are exorbitant out of pocket. I was born with horrendous teeth, and although I have had them cared for in the past, I can admit that I've neglected them.
At one point I fell into a deep depression that made them worse, and by the time I was able to snap out of it, I couldn't afford to fix them.
So, now I have one in particular that's rotted to the bone. I can't remember the last time I ate without pain. I talked about it on Reddit, talked about my financial issues, just generally complaining and wanting to talk... And someone reached out to me.
They go by Leuku, they're a DND 5e creator, and they offered to help pay for my dental costs.
....I don't like accepting money, I feel like I have to earn it. I asked if they would instead help me promote my book once it's out so I can promote my work and save some income to take care of myself. They offered instead to pay half, then promote the book once it's out.
Now, if any of you are approached by a stranger on Reddit offering money, for the love of God don't take it. It's 90% of the time a scam, and can do real harm. However, Leuku asked for my Buy Me A Coffee account, and I figured if it was a scam, there's no harm in giving my public donation platform... and, they actually did it.
I'm, genuinely, at a loss for words. It was no small sum of money they gave, and the thought of having the opportunity to be able to set that money aside and actually pay for my dental care? I'm... Fuck it, I'm already crying.
I have had so much help and support since I have begun being more social on the internet. Of course, I expect the ass holes, but I never thought I'd find genuine people who are willing to help and support what I do, and I especially never thought there would be really people who were willing to help with my medical problems.
I can admit I'm jaded about the world, but the support I have found here, and from the most unlikely of places on the internet has genuinely humbled me.
I can't thank you all enough for all you have done, just by viewing my work and reaching out to help. From things such as community members and fellow writers being willing to promote my personal work, to users on the platform helping me with AO3, and artists being willing to work with me on a project I'm genuinely passionate about, just, thank you all so much.
And thank you Leuku. You've given me the means to begin taking away my dental pain so I can enjoy food with my wife again. And I'm sure as shit going to post when I'm able to enjoy ice cream for the first time in 4 years. Go send Leuku some love and appreciation, they more than deserve it.
I can't believe I live in a time where I have to even do this, but here we are.
This page will be in my book at the front upon release. There may be some wording changes, but the message is plain. My work was made by people, for people. Not by AI, or for AI. I put money into a real artist, I took the years of learning how to write fiction and put that passion and experience into my own work. I will not let AI come in and steal from me, my artist, or my readers.
AI is nothing but a massive collaborative project that no artist ever consented to.
There, I said it. I grew up reading E. Poe and Tolkien, and if the writer can poetically explain the definition of a tree leaf to the point of the reader tasting it, then I enjoy that.
