Another interesting thing: in many fantasy settings (including fairy tales, many of them of course from Europe) when people say "The North", it's inmiediatly clear they're talking about cold and snow. Oh yes, the Northerners, from the land of cold and snow...
While for me in the Southern Hemisphere and especifically Argentina, "The North" is the hot part of the country, and the further north you go it's hotter, nearer the equator, while the further south you go it's colder, nearer the south pole.
Now, I know most people do live in the Northern Hemisphere so it makes sense to them, but it's really interesting that when you see a fantasy world talking about "The North", it's inmediatly clear it's talking about snow and cold and such, and often about pseudo-vikings. Why do we need to copy Earth's geography exactly like that? Why not a warm north near the equator that gets colder the further south you go?
In fact, why does every fantasy setting has to take place in the Northern Hemisphere? Just the way it's worded reveals a lot.

How many people’s most beloved childhood stuffed animals are actually teddy bears, like I feel like that’s a thing someone made up. Reblog this and put what your longest owned and/or favorite stuffed animal as a child was in the tags, inquiring minds want to know
Bro I just realized de last day of the Dionysian festivals is basically a fanfic war 💀
Yo I just realized that, y'know, I could've died as a child. Several times. And that's kind of the point of living, right? But wtf man
I believe what I love the most about spring is the smell. No, not the flowers (Wich are really pretty, thank you), but the green. I don't know how to express it in english that well, but here's the thing; we don't have that much flowers were i live. At least, not flowers like roses, or peonies, or plants who's single "purpose" is the flower. We have trees. Those trees have flowers, too, but they don't smell. So when I wake up one morning, and it turns out it's not as cold as I remember, and suddenly I can hear a thrush outside the window, and little leaves are all around the street, I can't do anything but breath. It smells like green. Like newborn leaves. like before rain. It's not particularly sweet, but is indeed fresh. A relieving breath of new air after months of toned down life (I do love autumn and winter with my whole heart, too).
And suddenly life seems as simple as eating tangerines and looking at my cat sleep for hours. And morning showers by the glowing window. And Celtic music. And an overall happy feeling. Like a restart. Wich it is, kinda. You know, newborn little animals everywhere. Little plants blooming in the soaked dirt. It wholeheartedly makes me feel happy. It's the smell of change.
Spring smells like life.
Aye, guess who rewatched the Stark Trek AOS movies the other day and got the vulcans all over her head once again 😀 Anyway, I'm quite proud of this one, so I'm gonna save it here, don't mind it.
I am once again sitting in my bed, with an open book in my lap, scribbling notes in loose sheets of paper while the sweet smell of the tangerine I'm eating wanders in the air, and the soft sound of french music I do not understand playing in the background helps me focuse on the geography themes I have to learn for the upcoming exam and oh look it's 2am.
It's really crazy how I hate and love(romantically o platonically) any "tall, androgynous in appearance, entp, with a god complex, a bit manic or generally very intelligent or powerful and smug about it" character in movies/books/series in equal parts and I think it's because I gender envy them. I mean, I crave the confidence they have and the fact that a they have reasons to be that proud about themselves and at the same time I love the idea of someone like that. I am an entp, but I aspire to be *that* type of entp someday. Nothing else, it's just infodump
