In seriousness, this is oklch.com, a color picker for the OKLCH color model.

There are whole several hour lectures one could take in color science and theory, but to keep it short: the set of colors we can see, the set of colors monitors can display, and the set of colors computers can model are three circles that only somewhat overlap.

In this case, if I wanted this color

but in red, I could just go of Photoshop and move over the hue slider, getting this as a result:

Which is.. acceptable, but not as "bright" and "vibrant" as the green I had. Looking at the graphs in the OKLCH color picker, we can figure out why:

It tells us that a red with the same luminosity and chroma as this green is out of gamut—that is, it cannot be displayed by this monitor.

In this case, you can use the edges of the graph to find the color that is closest to what you want. You can, for example, keep the chroma but sacrifice lightness,

keep the lightness but drop the chroma,

or a bit of both, which is what the common HSV triangles already do.

day 25: this one wasn't a wheel pick it was a pick from my girlfriend. transcribed below

this one was fun! again, the thing is that, well, She's Kazki. we mostly know what she looks like. but i believe her drowned form is likely her deep pressure body, so i was going for more of her standard qou form.

kept her shawl! i wasn't sure how to interpret the… collar? area of confusion on drowned, but i figured that it was memory tearing and or something that would be covered up by her shawl. i did take note that her shawl was white in drowned.

i think if i had to interpret the neck area, it would be as some sort of collar armor-- either as a symbol of status, or just pure vibes and aesthetic. i'm not sure! either work for her!

hiii spider imagery. this was more of a posing thing than a design thing but i wanted to have fun because, again, We Know What She Looks Like. her whole Thing is Being Constrained-- trapped in a web, no eyes watching, etc. the spider imagery is very important to me.

more of a meta-commentary but yeah, we only see her eyes when she Knows something. but of course her mouth is hidden because she does not have the free will to speak. every day i fall more and more in love with corru's design choices.

also i've come to realize obesk may just prefer being barefoot. or it's a deep pressure thing, maybe, because being barefoot seems like it would Suck in cave cities. but telyu's also barefoot!

day 24: miltzaaaa. I like her a normal amount (explanation below)

her receptors are, at least to me, very clearly meant to be reminiscent of hands, so i wanted to portray that. especially with how obesk hands are implied if not stated to be spiritual, i believe she stylizes like this.

i interpreted her head lump as a fur hat. likely not something she would've had larvally, but i liked it!

with her religious themes, i decided to give her a veil of sorts. it keeps her silhouette as well as covering the eyes; again, spiritual!

her okizoka arm i wanted to make reminiscent of common interpretations of the mindspike! i imagine it's similarly functional.

okay so. i felt like her collar was meant to be reminiscent of a clerical collar, but other than that her vibe is very Military. so i gave her a clerical collar but also a bad bitch studded jacket. for the silhouette (broad shoulders!) but also because i think she deserves it.

i hid her hands, but as an extra design note, i think she has gauntlets. biiig chunky ones. not that she uses them! but i want her to look intimidating.

again, studded boots-- geometric. chunky combat attack boots. she's giving military nun.

day 21: was thinking about bozko's signature. this turned into a study of obeski (specifically vaznian) fashion, by a person who is not good at fashion

however, bozko did not care enough to make himself his own signature-- this is just what akizet committed to memory. thus i believe he does not care too much to be flashy with it. its mostly kazki's doing.

lightly based off of idril's vaznian fashion subset, which is described to be focused on expressive, simple shapes. he gets triangles. lots of them.

i'm so sorry about the toe shoes. unforch i think he would have them. better dexterity.

i think his receptors could have been interpreted as frills. but i also think the horn-esque formation clear in all obesk is intentional. so i refrained from joy.

shoulderpads mostly drawn from idril. cape is for silhouette purposes.

the sleeves here are also for silhouette purposes-- they build out the bulky arm structure! … the gauntlet/caging is for fun. i guess it's slightly reminiscent of kazki's encased gem?

i think while working he has claw modifications / claw rings / whatever. which is why aki remembers him having Big Fucking Claws. but also he can just have big hands too!

fun pants cutouts… too late i realized it gives him a sort of western vibe. but i enjoy them. i'm not sure how accurate they'd be, but at the very worst it can be written off as "kazki makes her friend try this cousinly fashion choice she enjoys"

also, they're sheer- same sort of material the drape is made from!
