First, when we think about the amab yuri fan, we tend to think charitably that's gonna be someone like Shencomix presents it: kinda quirky, kinda silly and mostly inoffensive (the honorary lesbian). But this is a front, as they become terribly defensive on their position when transness is involved in any capacity.
The presence of a transfem on a yuri Fandom? They raise eyebrows. The suggestion of a trans woman being in a relationship with another woman in fiction? That's not really yuri for them...and then there's the eggs.
I've seen people that can say that "everyone has gender dysphoria in some degree" and go about their day like it's nothing, because doing something about it is not in their books or whatever.
But yuri boys? Theirs is Sisyphus boulder. They carry it around pretending that it's not there. Stomping their feet and finding excuses, toying around with transphobia, acting like they're into it but, in my opinion, not in a terfy karen committed to bigotry way.
Why is that? Because transition is hope. And hope terrifies them.
They accepted that they won't be the girl they see on screen and obsess over, they accepted to be in the crowd watching because they know they can't be them. I mean, they're guys right? Guys just can't become girls, they all dream about it, fantasize and wish for it at some point but, come on, it's not like it can happen...right?
So...whenever egg cracks and the yuri girl is having a domestic moment with their partner(s), like making breakfast and shit, the girl will remember the time when she didn't knew who she was and how she may have been a jerk or even hurt someone out of fear of herself.
