The Pelourinho, commonly named Pelô by the inhabitants of the city, is the name of a famous district in Salvador, capital city of the Bahia state in Brazil.  Located in the historic center of Salvador, the Pelourinho is characterised by its Portuguese colonial and baroque architecture.  Bahia is unfortunately known in history for being at the heart of the salve trade  under Portuguese rule.  The place is listed in the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO

No térreo, funcionam o Cine Maison e o Teatro Maison de France.

Para o Cônsul Geral da França no Rio de Janeiro, Brice Roquefeuil, este novo espaço cultural contribui com a dinamização do Centro Histórico: “Queremos colocar esse endereço na nova paisagem cultural do Centro da cidade, que se desenvolveu muito com a Biblioteca Parque, a reforma do Theatro Municipal, o MAR e o Museu do Amanhã. O VLT vai chegar na nossa porta, é uma ótima oportunidade para criar um espaço de encontros e de eventos para a sociedade civil carioca francófona e não francófona”. “

Bloco Sargento Pimenta - Carnival 2016 Rio de Janeiro

One of the most famous bloco of Rio de Janeiro.  Brazilian group covering The Beatles song with samba tones using brazilian typical percussions.  Sargento Pimenta means Sergent Pepper in Portuguese, from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the famous album of the band released in June 1967.
