@vtomleni
do you see the vision.
Rumple: why wont belle forgive me? What have i ever done to hurt her?
All of storybrouke: we made a list, its in alphabetical order.
So hey remind me again why Belle ended up with Rumple after he
beat her father half to death
lied about being the Dark One
took on the DO curse once more even though he had a clean slate
gave her a fake token of trust
put a tracking device on her like a dog
locked her against her will in his castle and on the JR
lied about his ex-wife
referred to her as an object (”he took something of mine”)
manipulated his way back into town after she said she never wanted to see him again
kissed her while she was unconscious, knowing she didn’t want anything to do with him
states multiple times that he needs Belle to be “blissfully ignorant” for his plans to work
convinced Isaac to write a new reality where Belle is a submissive housewife, even though they were broken up in the real world
claimed that “necessity” would “make her love him”
chased Belle around her library and cornered her in the elevator
frightened Belle enough that she sent their child away so Rumple couldn’t interfere with his destiny
kills his ex-wife AGAIN
manipulated Belle’s dreams so she would fall in love with him again
tried to hurt and kill people she considered her friends
You know....I thought it was impossible for me to hate Rumplestiltskin more than I already did. But I was wrong.
“Rumple isn’t an abuser!”
Someone recently replied to one of my posts on Instagram saying just as the title suggests…. which leaves me shaking my head.
Rumpelstiltskin was the Dark One.
His heart was so dark that he was dying from that darkness.
Hades said that Rumple & Regina supplied him with the most souls.
“Oh but isn’t that the darkness? Didn’t the darkness make him do that?”
Yes, at first you could blame it on the darkness. But Rumple had 300 years to master the darkness and multiple chances to be rid of it forever. But he didn’t give it up. Which makes him solely responsible for all of his misdeeds as the dark one.
Child Neglect & Abandonment
This was his first chance to get rid of the darkness but because he is a weak coward, he chose his powers over his child. That is abuse. Baelfire was abandoned.

Don’t you just wish the last scene that Rumple and Belle had shared together was the one where Belle finally realized what a piece of shit he was and commanded him to leave town
2x21 regina angst hits hard
like. snow describes it as "the worst pain shes ever felt", they find her and snow claims if they dont get her to mother superior that regina is gonna die,
and then her son gets kidnapped literally the next day i think like.. she cannot catch a break.
and then the neverland arc she doesnt get to sleep comfortably, i doubt shes really sleeping at all bc the worry is eating her alive,
plus through all of it she has to look at killian who is partially responsible, if not mainly responsible, for the fact that she got kidnapped in the first place (like he put the magic dampening cuff on her). she has to spend hours and hours with this guy and NOT beat the shit out of him like i would lmao 😭😭
anyway emma and regina bonding over being traumatized as fuck during neverland is so dear and special to me
ot4: emma swan x belle french x regina mills x ruby lucas (ouat) (+ hcs)
@polyamships day 20: fairytales divider cred
aromantic regina mills <3
aromantic regina x aromantic emma qpr is so important to me. i have several wips of them and i just love qpr sq so much. literally the q in sq stands for queerplatonic trust 🙏
also i do fw outlawqueen as platonic soulmates lowkey but thats a conversation some of us arent ready to have yet😌
studying something for a fic and just.. wow
my boy henry was on a mission
not to mention the drive back so like in total 6-8 hours to not know where your ten year old is.
heartbreaking: the worst ship you know just had a cute moment.
i hate when the show tries to feed me canon ship propaganda.. 😔😔
Me with captainswan :(
Me with Rumbelle
SO FUCKING REAL OMG bc they did have me in the first half but now they make me MAD free my girl Belle from the shackles of this raggedy man
No seriously. I was already kinda over it just after seeing that first episode with them, but then they slowly started winning me over in s2 and I was like “I can live with this”. And now I’m 2 thirds of the way through season 5 and wishing this was gonna go literally anywhere else (preferably ending in Belle X Ruby being canon but LITERALLY anything is better than what we have)
...it gets worse? 😦 (I'm on the Cruella/Ursula s4 arc) 😭
can't believe she takes that bum back AGAIN like at this point it isn't fantasy cause she would've dumped him already if it was. my poor sister's lost in the sauce all we can do is pray for her 😭
they did win me over in s2 i just forgot it's been a lifetime since then
sooo real belle x ruby is a top tier ship
oh yeah. it gets worse 😭😭<- has finished the show ALSO BELLE/RUBY IS PEAKKK i love them (i also like belle/merida and belle/mulan and literally belle/ANYONE ELSE.)
what’s ur opinion on Rumple? cuz imo he’s the worst and didn’t deserve any redemption at all.
Oh God. Rumple just really is a whole can of worms isn’t he? TLDR: No, I don’t believe he deserved redemption.
I think Rumple worked best as a sympathetic villain but one not intended to be redeemed. We could see why he did what he did, many an episode explained his reasonings and it was easy to see how he turned out as the horrible person he was. But it should’ve ended there. He’s out for himself, which made him not really on either side but willing to do anything to get what he wanted.
Rumple works best as a broken man suffering the consequences of his own actions, and thus I think he should’ve never gotten back with Belle, nor should he have been forgiven by Bae. Because how am I supposed to believe someone can change if they’re never taught their actions have permanent consequences?
He carries a sense of entitlement in the show, as a lot of the reformed characters do, that just because he said sorry he deserves to be treated well (like when he grovels at the town line begging for Belle to forgive him. Why should she do that exactly??). This sentiment is harboured by Belle too, who seems to have an almost abuse victim level of forgiveness and excuses for him. It’s slightly disturbing to watch out of an endgame pairing.
I, like many people, think he should’ve stayed dead in s3. The ultimate act showing that, while he may not be a good person, he has grown from his nasty habit of self preservation and learned that saving others at the cost of his life is the final way to show he feels genuine care towards those around him. He grows from his cowardice and fights bravely in the end, without magic, a good conclusion to his arc in my opinion.
When they brought him back, he became an abuser who didn’t care about anyone but himself, and was willing to do anything to keep his claws sunk into Belle - who didn’t even want to be with him.
They dug up his grave at the cost of his writing. Rumple was always a morally ambiguous, selfish person whose redemption arc didn’t seem like it would be like Regina’s. Watching it, I always assumed he’d have an arc like he did in 3a - a last minute remorse sort of thing. But that didn’t happen, what we got was a rehash of other redeemed villains held together with paper mache and a character so easily loathed that his constant flip flopping between redemption and evil became a meme. Utterly awful writing choice.
Rumbelle is fucking toxic and should be abolished.
You cannot convince me otherwise.
Rumple's manipulations towards Regina is disgusting.
Honestly, I get Emma blaming Regina, but the real blame goes to Rumpelstiltskin. The man is willing to kill anyone just for security.
A true businessman through the end.
Love that Regina argues against his manipulations on how killing Mary Margaret and Emma is wrong even if she ends up being the only mother in Henry's life, it doesn't make her a better mother or a good one. It just goes back to Henry hating her again and seeing her as the Evil Queen.
Milah is far from my favorite characters and I loathe Neal (not Baelfire), but it still wrecks me that even after such a deep and honest discussion between Rumple and Milah, her touching confession, Rumple destroyed her in such a cruel way. She deserved so much better. What would I have given to see her and Belle have a heart to heart.
Once Upon a Time (2011–2018) "Lady of the Lake"
the show tries to downplay his predation and exploitation of the women of the mills family by saying it was all to cast the curse in an effort to find his son
but like... both of Cora's daughters? after what happened between them? "I'll take your baby"? not that he's consciously thinking that. (i do believe he's telling himself it's all to find baelfire, and we see with emma how the curse of the dagger leads a person to worse and worse reasoning that their means are justified by their ends. it is interesting that the characters still feel a need to justify themselves though, rather than losing sight of even caring about doing the right thing. but this is true from the origin of the curse with nimue and! let me tell you later about the female-ness of what it even means to be a dark one bc holy shit is it ever!)
sure cora and her daughters are powerful but i think it's fair to read into that a bit further.
i hate that later in the show they have regina saying there was "something there" between them like... No there wasn't? when ever did they show that kind of chemistry?
(personally given that they are cora's daughters and that he'd been so heartbroken not to have children with cora im really glad that imo he never showed a genuine sexual or romantic interest in zelena or regina, i don't care what the stupid writers made regina say about it later or what happened when the evil queen split off from her. i don't buy any of that for one moment.)
