Okay the 200% create post window is pretty cool
Love this lil walk. She’s got places to be, and bits to get done. But that doesn’t stop her from being a goof.
where’s this one from?
Empress consort Adina of Hyldemark (b. Gusti Kanjeng Putri Dewi Adina)
Dewi Ajeng Adina Sastrowardaya (1872-1937) was Empress consort of Hyldemark as the wife of Emperor Beathan IV, one of King Philippe of Sommerheim's descendants through his eldest daughter Queen Camila. Born a Javanese princess from the Sultanate of Howa as the fourth daughter from Sultan Maniku V and Ratu Agong Madea's 13 children, she became the first known non-European consort in Europe.
Not much concrete information is known of Adina's childhood aside from hearsay, except that she was a gifted dancer and painter from an early age, as well as being able to play the gamelan, a Javanese set of instruments very well. From birth, she was styled as Yang Terhormat Gusti Kanjeng Putri Dewi Adina as the daughter of the Sultan, or the equivalent of Her Royal Highness Princess Dewi Adina. She was the fourth daughter of Maniku V, and overall, his sixth child. Adina's childhood was different that most Howa princesses before her, as unlike his predecessors, his father did not take a concubine, hence all of her siblings are legitimate.
Adina first met her the then-Grand Prince Beathan of Hyldemark, future Beathan IV, during his groundbreaking visit to Asia. Beathan was the first Hyldenese royal to set foot in Asia, as part of his father's efforts to revolutionize the monarchy. His first stop in Asia was in Java, the nearest port was located in Howa. His arrival was warmly accepted by the Sultanate. As part of his welcome ceremony, Maniku V had his daughters perform a traditional dance accompanied by the gamelan. It was the first time Beathan set eyes on the young Adina, then still 17 years old, and he was said to be infatuated immediately. He was quick to pursue her, although they both soon found that they had difficulties in conversing, as Adina did not speak a word of English. They later discovered they both spoke Dutch, as a part of Howa was under control of the colonial government of The Netherlands, which made the Sultan and his family learn the language.
Beathan eventually asked for Adina's hand in marriage sometime in late 1889, around six months after their initial meeting. After receiving her acceptance and both their parents' blessings, it was declared that Adina would marry after she turned 18. In 1890, as agreed, a week after her birthday, they were married. She converted to Hyldenese Orthodoxy two weeks before the wedding, though she was given special dispensation to not completely repudiate her former Muslim beliefs. Unlike his father and predecessors, Beathan did not take a mistress, sparing Adina from the pain of infidelity. They were fortunately, happily married. She bore him 12 children, 10 whom survived to adulthood; one died in infancy, the other died in childhood.
Adina was a popular and beloved Empress consort; though she had difficulties adapting in Europe initially, suffering severe homesickness, her natural charms made her well-liked, despite her somewhat unique heritage. A popular story goes that during her early days in court, many mistook her birthplace as Bavaria, which led to some thinking she was a German princess, when in reality Howa was located near the port of Batavia, present-day Jakarta. She was revered and loved for her sincerity and generosity, and was somewhat a fashion icon. She introduced many Javanese customs and culture to Hyldemark; until today, Javanese and Indonesian are one of the most learned languages in the country, thanks to Adina. Though she was a quick learner in foreign languages, being a fluent and excellent speaker, Adina was said to have trouble overcoming her heavy accent, but instead of it being an issue, many came to adore her way of talking.
She died in 1937 from natural causes, after outliving her husband for three years. Adina became more widely known as The Javanese Empress posthumously, a moniker that seemed to stay with her throughout her life. She remained fondly remembered and beloved by the people even years after her passing, with her children treating her memory with utmost care, affection, and respect.
Being Javanese myself, I was initially baffled before realizing it's an OC. Spent far too long to realize it lmao. "Sultanate of Howa? Where the hell is that?! Never hear of- oooooooh, it's a fictional character nvm" Anyway it's awesome.

To those who are lowkey salty about River City Girls’ Ending
Guess what? They’ve patched in a new ending! I think you need to collect all collectibles to trigger it? But anyway if you can’t be arsed to play it yourself here’s a spoiler video of the True Ending
knight: rides into battle without helmet everyone: gives him strange looks knight: “kitty was sleeping in it” everyone: nods in agreement
Biker: rides in the highway without helmet
Policemen: gives him stern looks
Biker: “kitties were sleeping in it”
Policemen: nods in agreement
So if I started a Valkyria Chronicles 4 writing/headcanons blog, would anyone actually send anything in? I’d love to write for these wonderful characters but the fandom seems kinda small and quiet…
If you’d be keen to see VC4 writing blog, could you reblog or like this? If there seems to be enough interest I’ll do it!
River City Ransom Reunion
Then and now.
The top picture is from Kunio-tachi no Banka (Super Famicom), and the bottom picture is from the upcoming (edit: now released!) beat-em-up River City Girls. Both games features the same playable characters.
Then and now, again.
Welp, even though I accidentally spoiled myself the ending... I'm still planning to buy River City Girls.
Not for that ending, the ending is trash. I'll just act like it doesn't exist.
I'll just play through the fun character interactions and funny dialogue and enjoy the amazing music that includes nice fully voiced songs, plus the beautiful art and character designs.
That's worth it.
Oh boy, that ending.
Wow, the ending of River City Girls fucking sucks
Preach it
So I’m watching the Japanese trailer for River City Girls, right? Fun looking game, got to see some new parts in action. But then something, or more accurately, someONE flashes by.
I take a snapshot on my phone to make sure I’m not seeing things, but there he is:
ABOBO!
One of the most notorious and infamous baddies from the Double Dragon series!
Speaking to someone that worked on the game over Twitter, they have confirmed that this is INDEED Abobo!
With WayForward also confirming that this will be a canonical entry into the Kunio-Kun series, how would Abobo fit into the story? Could he be related to Giant Sukeban Misuzu!?!?
We’ll find out on September 5th!
It will be canon? I thought it'll be a separate continuity, unless they're retconning some things that are in the previous games. Like how Kyoko and Misako are supposed to be from different highschools. Plus the overall westernized feel, compared to previous Kunio games.
Oh they’re not retconning anything. The fact that Kyoko and Misako attend different schools is mentioned at the very beginning of the game thanks to the playable demo being touted at cons and gatherings. In fact, one of the things this game is going to do is EXPAND the canon; including how Misako and Kyoko became friends, why Kyoko is Riki’s girlfriend now and not Mami, and much, much more. WayForward worked very closely with Arc System Works to get all the details right and correct.
Hey, that's good to know! I haven't had the chance to check the demo so I missed that fact. Also I'm guessing this is set after Downtown Nekketsu, then.

熱血硬派くにおくん外伝 River City Girls
I will now share a little factoid from the Swedish pen & paper role-playing scene that the rest of the world isn’t that aware of. First of all, we love Disney. Not all of Disney equally, but specifically Donald Duck and his friends. We -love- Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, and Scrooge McDuck comic books.
Now, bear that in mind when I tell you how in the Swedish version of Dungeons & Dragons, Drakar och Demoner (literally Dragons and Demons), you can play Duck characters.
I am not shitting you.
Behold… The evidence.
@seagerdy
somebody hook me up with a translation.
