Thank you for tagging me! 💕 <33 I love these questions!!
1) Waffles of course. Come on, look at my nickname! its kinda obvious XD
2) This one was difficult. But i managed to choose some of my favourites ;3
- First one is the video of a waffle falling over. I wish it whould fall on me and i whould bite my way through it like a rat, om nom nom nom yummy! (◕ᴗ◕✿)
- Second is the clip from that one old Elijah Wood prank interview. I know this one is very old but it just never stops being funny to me! it's so absurd i wheeze every time i watch it, i love everything about it XDD
- And I absolutely can't forget this beautiful opera cat. He is such a good singer! What a talent! <333
3) [ Warning! A lot of yapping! I accidently got a little bit too nerdy XD ]
Therere are so many! But let's focus on animated series first. My absolute favourites are Wander Over Yonder, The Cuphead Show, Villainous, Gravity Falls, and Over the Garden Wall! I love funny silly shows that, despite looking flat and cartoonish, have deep, interesting, heartfelt stories, meaningful themes, and wonderful characters <3
I admire how cartoons can tell you something deep and wise despite looking simple and childish. I actually think that's the main reason why I love animation so much. It's such a universal storytelling tool!
Oh, and I absolutely agree with @dary-dami about Kikoriki (or Smeshariki). I loved that show as a child! It's known for presenting deep philosophical themes and life lessons in a light, playful, family-friendly way, which makes the show feel both very deep and incredibly cozy! They also have a really cool sci-fi spin-off called Kikoriki: PinCode! I was obsessed with it as a child!! 🥺😭
Speaking of niche scientific Russian cartoons, I also want to mention The Innovators (or Новаторы). This series is pretty short and nowhere near as popular as Kikoriki but it's very entertaining and teaches you a lot about science, history, and inventing! Ohhh, I feel so bad for this cartoon! I wish it was more popular both inside and outside Russia. I loved it as a child, and I even used it as inspiration for my 9th-grade graduation project XD Yeah... those were fun times!
After talking about TV series, I also want to mention a few web series I enjoy. First, Eddsworld!!! the father of web animation itself! I don't really keep up with the modern episodes anymore, but its classic and legacy-era episodes are pure gold!! They always give me a lot of inspiration. ;3
I also recently got into SMG4! Although I'm focusing only on Mr Puzzles' story arc for now, since the series is very long and I only discovered it recently XDD Even though the series often feels hyperactive and a little too unserious, I found myself really enjoying the story and characters. I especially love Mr Puzzles' story arc and the interactions between Meggy and Tari (the way their friendship is shown in the Western Spaghetti movie is truly heartfelt 🥺)
I also recently found out there's going to be another animated show about Mr. Puzzles soon, and I'm really looking forward to it! :3
Okay, now that we've finished with animated series, I'm going to talk about animated movies too! To be honest, I don't really enjoy live-action movies, so animation has always been my main focus!
I absolutely adore the storybookish whimsical, spooky feeling you get from Tim Burton's and Henry Selick's movies. That's why Corpse Bride, Frankenweenie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, and many others are my favourites!
Besides spooky stuff, I also love 2000s Pixar and Disney golden age classics! My favourites are WALL-E, Ratatouille, Monsters Inc and Toy Story. They all tell such unique and beautiful stories!! <3 Another studio whose movies I absolutely adore is Studio Ghibli! Their stories are deep, unhurried, wise, and leave you with such a peaceful, comforting feeling (WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES, OKAY?! THAT ONE IS HEARTBREAKING 😭). I'm also deeply amazed by their attention to detail. It gives me enormous aesthetic pleasure! <3
One last movie I want to mention is Klaus by SPA Studios. The moment I watched it, I fell in love instantly! It has beautiful handdrawn animation, gorgeous lighting, and an incredibly unique, kind, and heartfelt story!!! I'm really looking forward to more cartoons from this studio. 🥺💕
OH GOSH, I WROTE SO MUCH MY EYES STARTED TO HURT WAHAHAHAHA I think it's time for me to pass the baton!! I yapped way too much in one go XD
