Life of Luxury with Lincoln
I spent the last week and a half living a luxurious life with Lincoln.
My daily life is the furthest thing from luxurious. I may wear fancy designer bags and shoes, but there is a lot of grunt work that goes into making that possible. There is also a lot of driving involved, whether it be around the city or to other cities like Calgary or Vancouver. To give you an idea of the time I spend behind the wheel, I will let you know my 2012 vehicle has just hit 247,000KM. That is just over 41,000KM per year. They say the average person drives 25,000KM per year. I guess you can say I am an overachiever.
A comfortable drive is very important to me. The massage seats were the most utilized feature in this vehicle, followed by the heated seats and heated steering wheel. The sound system transported me. I am a car-karaoke singer - no - PERFORMER. I felt like the stage was all mine every time I blasted my throwbacks playlist. The backup camera allowed me to back into parking stalls like a boss. The one featured I did not use was the self-park feature. The car can indeed park itself, but I am not quite trusting enough of technology to try it. Maybe next time! Fuel economy also holds a significant level of importance. You can imagine my excitement when I found out this chariot of mine was a hybrid! With all that said, the Lincoln MKZ got two thumbs up from me!
I only had the Lincoln for a week and a half, but it felt more like a month or longer! I may or may not have gone on an adventure or two. One of my adventures took me to Calgary for a couple days. I make the trip to Calgary way too often and for those of you who don't know it is a 3 hour drive from Edmonton. I have to say, it was my best drive yet. Time flew by as I sang my heart out and thanks to the massage seats, my butt and legs did not fall asleep! I had a few meetings in Calgary, followed by a night out with my Calgary crew. When the car was first dropped of for me, I was told it was not built for winters. While I was out with my fashionistas, it started to snow. The forecast did mention a heavy snow fall in Calgary. Lucky me! I stayed the night at my friends house and it was not the easiest drive through the residential streets as I was leaving. To my pleasant surprise, the car weathered the storm quite well. I survived the day of meetings, errands and the drive back to Edmonton, where another storm was brewing.
I think my favorite adventure was the mother-daughter date that Lincoln had planned for us. I owe all my success to my motivational mother who took me to seminars and transformation weekends, while my friends were out partying. This mother-daughter date sounded like the ultimate gift to show appreciation for all she's done. Do you think this means I am off the hook for Mother's Day? Probably not... and if anything it set the bar higher!
We started our day of appreciation with a glam session at the Blushed Beaute studio. My mother and I were both getting our hair and make up done for our night out on the town. Elizabeth transformed my already gorgeous mother into a bombshell! It was such an amazing experience, especially for my mother who has not had her hair and make up done since her wedding day and does not wear any make up at all on any other day. It was the perfect gift for those of you looking for something to buy for your mother for Mother's Day.
After Elizabeth beautified the star of the show, I took her home to style her for our evening out. My mother has a very simple and basic style on a regular day, so I decided to really doll her up! We put her in the iconic little black dress with a classic black pump, elegant Swarovski crystals and a Fendi baguette that would make Carrie Bradshaw proud. If you watched my stories on Instagram, you know that I declared that lending her my favorite designer bag was true love. Do not worry, she got the guard it with your life speech. My mother's look was complete and I threw on the perfect mini me (or her) look, which was my own little black dress, classic pump and clutch.
We were all dressed up, but did we have somewhere to go? Of course! Next stop was my favorite restaurant in downtown Edmonton. Sabor may be my favorite, but it was my mothers first visit. We started with my favorite appetizer, Fresh Mussels. Apparently, mussels are an acquired taste, which we did not share. Like mother, like daughter was not the case here. We both enjoyed our main courses, which were a Beef Tenderloin for moi and the Sturgeon for her!
Tummies were full and it was time for the metaphorical créme de la créme of the evening, Mamma Mia at the Citadel Theatre. Coincidentally, Mamma Mia is one of my mothers favorite movies. It truly was the perfect finale to the perfect day. Well, it was almost perfect. She did fall down the stairs before the second act. Rest assured she survived with a few bruises, but that is a story for another time. One thing I will say is when she fell she threw my Fendi baguette. Yup. Let that sink in. The bag survived too.
The rest of my week was filled with glamorous arrivals to client meetings and blogging events. One of the events I arrived to in style was the Pearl Showroom exclusive VIP event featuring Sass Jordan. It is a beautiful new space at the Casino Yellowhead in Edmonton.
You would not believe the amount of heads that turn when you are in a brand new luxury vehicle. I definitely do not receive the same looks in my 2012 Nissan Altima. I guess the question stands, once I drive my Altima to the death, will there be a luxury vehicle in my future? I do not know the answer to that question yet, but I do know that the Lincoln MKZ is still on my mind.
Until next time, my darling! Stay fabulous, XOXO!
