Hermione picked it.

Ron complained but still brought snacks.

You’re in the Gryffindor common room, lights dimmed, blanket pulled over the three of you like you’re trying to pretend the world outside doesn’t exist.

The movie starts.

There’s soft music. Warm lighting. A happy family.

You already know how this goes.

You’ve lived this script.

Thirty minutes in, the tragedy happens.

The music swells.

The screen lingers on grief.

Ron mutters, “Oh no.” Hermione’s hand flies to her mouth.

You just… watch. You don’t brace yourself. You don’t feel that drop in your stomach.

It’s just a scene. Just actors. Just pretend.

Then Someone dies.

Hermione starts crying quietly beside you.

Ron sniffles and pretends he’s allergic to dust again.

It’s very neat. Very clean.

Loss doesn’t look like that.

There wasn’t swelling violins or a gentle fade to black.

Just noise. Chaos. And then… absence.

Compared to that, this movie feels distant. Almost soft.

You don’t feel numb exactly. It’s more like… you ran out of space.

There’s only so much your chest can hold before it stops reacting.

The credits roll.

Hermione wipes her face.
