Prevenge is a serious candidate for the best Horror of the year list! Fun, inventive and unexpected, it is also Alice Lowe’s first full-length film as a director. She is great in it, too. She is funny and creepy at the same time. Great stuff.

Here Alone is a good, pensive zombie flick. Really cool! Great acting, great conflict, and not a lot of zombies. But it works.

Shows I am Watching (April 2017)

The Gorburger Show got its first season on Comedy Central, after two seasons as a web series. T.J. Miller is the mind behind it, and, well, I think the guy is a comedic genius! Totally funny, totally crazy, totally worth watching! The first episode had Reggie Watts jamming with Thundercat, and much more... sex dolls, vaping, people dying. Just watch it!

Shows Everybody Should be Watching (2017): Review

Comedy Central’s Review is a thing of beauty! The third and sadly final season had just started. In it, Forest MacNeil (played by Andy Daly) reviews life experiences, such as cannibalism, divorce, and eating pancakes. But things usually go array. When MacNeil’s misdoings start to accumulate, tragedy issues (well, tragedy for him, comedy for us, viewers!). Watch it now!

At the beginning, it was just alright. But after the Star Wars/Daredevil and the Sundance episodes, I was sold! Funny, broad, and still sort of specific, this is definitely a show worth watching!

Great Special I’ve Seen (Feb. 2017)

Michael Bolton’s Big, Sexy Valentine’s Day Special is great. Really, really great! It made me laugh out loud many times, particularly during Bolton’s and Kenny G’s standoff! Yep, it happens in this special, among many other things (the death of Santa Claus? You got it! The increase of world population? You got it! Horses? Aplenty!). This is a Lonely Island/ Comedy Bang Bang production, which I think should be the gold standard for nonsensical, anti-comedic, silly, absurd, groundbreaking, and crazy funny comedy. I give it a C+!
