wow players having to stand in lines for a quest because a relevant npc can only talk to one player at a time. is the funniest image on the planet
i need to correct this: wow classic doesn’t have any npcs that can only talk to one player at a time. these lines actually formed for a quest npc that players had to kill to complete the objective. knowing that i think this image is even funnier.
Literally this
My favourite is the guy saying, “This is like being at the dmv”

I sent this to my dad, who's been a boiler tech for 30 years.
“Of the two ways you can explode a boiler, that’s the best one” isn’t the comfort your father thinks it is

I found his bio on societyofpresidentialdescendants.org and it was so delightful I had to copy paste the whole thing:
“Ulysses Grant Dietz grew up in Syracuse, New York, where his Leave it to Beaver life was enlivened by his fascination with vampires, from Bela Lugosi to Barnabas Collins. He studied French at Yale (BA, 1977), and was trained to be a museum curator in the University of Delaware’s Winterthur Program in American Material Culture (MA, 1980). A decorative arts curator at the Newark Museum for thirty-seven years before he retired, Ulysses has never stopped writing for the sheer pleasure of it. Aside from books on Victorian furniture, art pottery, studio ceramics, jewelry, and the White House, Ulysses created the character of Desmond Beckwith in 1988 as his personal response to Anne Rice’s landmark novels. Alyson Books released his first novel, Desmond, in 1998. Vampire in Suburbia, the sequel, appeared in 2012. His most recent novel, Cliffhanger, was released by JMS Books in December 2020.
“Ulysses lives in suburban New Jersey with his husband of 45 years. They have two grown children, adopted in 1996.
“Ulysses is a great-great grandson of Ulysses S. Grant. His late mother, Julia, was the President’s last living great-grandchild; youngest daughter of Ulysses S. Grant III, and granddaughter of the president’s eldest son, Frederick. Every year on April 27 he gives a speech at Grant’s Tomb in New York City. He is also on the board of the U.S. Grant Presidential Library and Museum at Mississippi State University.”
And frankly, the novels sound like they slap:
Desmond was nominated for a Lambda Award.
“With his husband of 45 years.” You kids don’t know ... they got together before AIDS, at the peak of the Gay Glam Life. They stayed together as their generation died around them, and made through it to the point where they could marry and have a legal family. He looks like a chipper preppie who never had a serious thought or care in the world, but it took *incredible* determination, commitment, and also luck to get here.
having now read the first of this man's vampire books, you can absolutely tell that he cares a lot about historical furniture because oh my god he really wanted to tell us about all the historical furniture in this vampire's house. material culture as foreplay. seduction via theses about chairs

WHAT is the hottest dnd class
cleric

bard
warlock
paladin
barbarian
wizard
sorcerer
ranger
rogue
i’m sorry i couldn’t include everyone i ran out of poll options
men love being tied to chairs and gagged it makes them feel masculine it's the same as working in an office
this is very funny bc i went to a class on gay cowboy bondage that discussed hypermasculinity in the practice and basically made this exact point but like, unironically
a class on what
📢 GAY COWBOY BONDAGE
A goddess who abuses the power to call forth heroes of prophecy to do errands for her.
A hero who refuses to let the inconsequential nature of their quest ruin their fun.
"I'm on a quest from the Goddess and I require provisions!"
"Yeah... no. If I gave free provisions to every hero on a quest to get groceries or dry cleaning or something I'd be out of business."
"But my quest is different!"
"Oh yeah? What is it for?"
"Getting flowers for her wife's birthday."
"Sorry, buddy." *closes door*
"Wait, wait! But I'm getting special flowers! Tulips from the Fields of Blood. Peonies from the garden of the Troll King. A rose from the bottom ring of Hell itself!"
"Did the Goddess ask for all this?"
"No, she asked me to get cheap flowers from the vendor down the road. But I decided to make a proper quest of it."
"That is so her." *chuckles* "You know what? I respect your attitude. You can have some provisions."
"Yes! Thank you kindly. I will ask, nay demand, that they mention your generosity in the songs they'll write about me!"
"Don't get your hopes up. Just tell the Goddess to ease up on the snow next winter."
Plot twist: the Provisioner is the Goddess’s wife and has decided she’d like something besides shitty afterthought flowers for once.
I was thinking the Provisioner is like the Goddess's annoyed neighbor but that works too.
Now that’s a story right there.
Imagine the Goddess angrily sabotaging the hero while her wife just swoons.
The angry Goddess sicking her two headed ogre friend on the hero.
The Goddess’s wife *bites lip* he sure can take a beating can’t he.
Goddess angrily storms off (literally)
I like it! Though I'm thinking the hero is also a woman.
"there should be a word for if a himbo was a girl. like. a herbo"

the world is such a veautiful tapestry :')
we're on to something here ... i feel it
Pick a throuple dynamic:
A very married couple has a mutual crush
Criminal 4 Criminal 4 Criminal
Love triangle? No! We share and maybe fall in love too.
We're not in love, just having a threesome with the same person repeated-oops.
Normally Sensible One has no idea these two buffoons are in love with them
Friend group goes through trauma, decides to kiss about it
This third person we both adore will make our awkward arranged marriage bearable
Codependent lifelong best friends always fall for the same person
Potential couple's biggest hype-person got a little too enthusiastic
I hate you, love your partner, and we're all smoking hot. We should kiss.
Terrible evil people in terrible evil love
Hero, Villain, Just Some Person (far mentally healthier than the other two)
Everyone who reblogged this and said something like, "These are all so good!" Or, "I can't choose!" - you have extended my life by at least fifteen seconds. Each.
I also love it when people say what dynamic they chose, and which characters (fanfic or original) fit it.
Hahaha my sisters asleep you know what that means!!! Forbidden posting!! Ask me about my music tastes and maybe I'll be honest about what I listen to.

have thy ever heard Detachable Penis by King Missile
Omg what??? I have never heard of that song ever in my life.... is it good?
I don’t know if it’s good but it’s one of my recent ear worms . it’s a repeating baseline with a kind of spoken word over it . it’s from 97’ i want to say? so it’s ahead of its time in my opinion
Hmmm it definitely sounds interesting
i have many a bizzare song to share. might i suggest Stress by Jim’s Big Ego, or mayhaps Peek A Boo by Devo, Tomboy by Girl Loves Distortion, Anti War by A Global Threat, Kübris by Apparatschik. I love sending random song recommendations to people
That's great because I consistently find artists I love from off handed comments by people. Like I just recent found an ENTIRE GENRE I never knew existed from someone talking about music a character would like. And I was like damn.... it's kinda good tho...
wait what genre ? i’ve been expanding my music taste and i love finding new genres
............. this is gonna sound so stupid........ but it's Metal Vocaloid......................................
im a bluegrass and lemon demon fan i can not say any music genre is stupid
I also really like some lemon demon songs
i tried to respond to your tags analyzing the issues with modern country music and when i went to grab evidence for a claim and tumblr deleted my response so i think thats a sign i should leave that to a separate essay one day
OMG NOOOOO!!! I would have loved to read that to!!!! It does that to me all the time.. just one of its MANY issues.
yep! maybe i’ll make that into a video essay one day i have a little makeshift filming set now i can use and by god do i have way to much to say about the nature of modern country. did you know, much like some modern pop, a lot of modern country isn’t even written by the artist? while yeah that makes sense not all songwriters are performers, learning that Try That In A Small Town, the country song that haunts my dreams and the local radio, wasn’t even written by its artist is so deeply macabre to me. try that in a small town??? sir you had four people write that song for you i think if you stepped foot in a small town you’d begin sobbing
First of all, Yessss!!! New filming stuff, that's so exciting!!! And second of all, honestly I am kinda shocked by that. It's distressing in a way that is hard to explain and really makes you realize this sort of "I'm a family type of guy" image they go for is entirely fabricated.
hold on i’ll send you a link of that one you couldn’t find. it’s by a weird niche band i am exactly 1/5 of the fanbase for
Okay yeah make that one my favorite out of them. Songs that literally tell you a story my beloved
Girl loves distortion is so underrated im so glad i got that recommended to me one day. i listened to it on a walk home one day and i nearly skipped it and it so glad i never did
