honestly we goin all out for disability pride this year. i think actually it would be good if I were louder about my occupational injuries and slow disabling via my chosen career. there is a distinct separation between people who are "disabled" and people who are disabled by work over time. carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, sciatica. left untreated or just the cause of decades of repetitive work, these conditions cut the length of people's careers in a way that those who don't have them will never understand. I love my job. my carpal tunnel has put a definitive clock on what i do, whether that means I need surgery in 10 years or I need to switch careers entirely. and even then, I will need to find something where I don't need my hands. oh wait except I still need to use those hands outside of work to, say, take a fucking shower! anyway that's my story thanks everyone.

shower is a good example but actually now that I think about it, if I'm not careful one day I will lose my ability to use a doorknob. Gripping and turning is so much. you are required by the ADA to use door handles for this exact reason!

Does no one realize how racist this assumption can be? Most LLMs are trained heavily on Commonwealth and other standardized English corpora, yet now when people from Commonwealth countries naturally write in polished English, others immediately say it “sounds AI-generated.”

I fear this is the beginning of a really awful trend that will make it even harder for non-white writers to get published.
