Chris: “Really?” He was so defensive that not even the drink he had just finished was calming him like he thought it would. Here he was trying to move on and actually go on a date only to see her. The one person that he thought had moved on and far away from him. “Were we good because where’s the proof to that?” He didn’t even want to argue with her but it was like he was only doing it for the closure he needed. “Funny, a really poor apology and you’ve got a clear conscience.” It only solidified his thought that he didn’t mean much to her. If he dind’t mean so much to her then why should she mean anythign to him? His face hardened as he continued figuratively swatting away her words. He wasn’t here for her apologies or to even be around her. He didn’t want to hear about how she was only here to rest her wing. “Glad I could serve as your familiar face,” Chris wanted to move away from her. The memories suffocating him. The thought of how she was the person he would often dream about, only waking up to realize that she wasn’t there. He thought about how she was still the name he would search if he ever was bored at home and had a computer in front of him. She was the person that had stopped his life when he left. He didn’t want to hurt because she had just left without so much as a goodbye. “I can’t do this.” His adam’s apple showing the struggle it was to push the lump down his throat. It was as if life was telling him not to move on no matter how much he wanteed to. “I’m supposed to be here moving on or getting over you.” How stupid was it that he was still getting over someone who seemed so fine without him. “Fucking Kismet.” He looked around looking for his date, but not catching sight of her. For all he knew she had backed out and hadn’t even told him that she wasn’t going to show.
Bridget: shook her head and sighed. "So, because everything ended on a bad note that totally negates every good moment of our relationship prior?" She nodded as her words finished following it with a dismissive shrug. "Fine with me. If that's how were going to leave it." Maybe he was onto something with all the bitter and the anger in his voice. Deep down she knew she deserved it but there was still that level on the top that refused to admit her wrong. Her experience should have been humbling but all she could think of was the hurt, and how much this hurt right now. When all she wanted was his comfort. But her tongue and her pride were betraying her. In a deep breath she sighed. "I'm sorry, okay. I am. I've said it and you just won't accept it, it doesn't mean it's half assed." She could feel the bubbles of her alcohol in her stomach, or maybe it was the nerves and butterflies everything happening with Chris was bringing. But it was uncomfortable and she didn't know what to do anymore. His words stung as he said he was trying to move on from her, but she should have known that. She wondered too why it had taken him so long. But she had also noticed his word choice and she didn't know why there was a little bit of hope in his words. "I could go ahead and help you with that." She moved her eyes around the room, looking to see what he was looking for, knowing it had to be another girl or something. She finished the contents of her drink and shifted on her heels. "You can't do this, fine, I'll find you someone to move on with." She hoped the irritation she was trying to hide wasn't there, and wondered just what in the world she was doing.
