This... was not what she needed after today. All Miyuki wanted right now was to go home, and sleep until work tomorrow. But now Dib is just. standing in front of her car door.
â... Dib, I need to go home. If youâve got a problem with the work Iâve been giving you, just tell me tomorrow, okay?â This is most definitely not why heâs holding her up, but... better to just. try to act as human as possible. So she can pass out at home, instead of in a parking lot.
[hi! iâm not dead, just. absent. iâm currently writing over at my new hat kid, @time-pieced, and my queen vanessa, @of-ice-and-shadows!]

The former tyrant comes forward without realizing it, exhibiting a tenderness never before seen, and one that would probably get a regular Irken killed or at the very least scorned. He imagines there will be talking. He doesnât care.
A hand presses against the screen. Purple is still just staring.
âWeâŠwerenât allowed to, nor given the time to.â
That... makes sense. Besides the ones she was close to, Miyuki knew full well Irken werenât the type to waste time with sentimental things. They had a job to do, and mourning would only get in the way of that.
It... hurt, though.
â... Well... I suppose itâs a good thing you didnât, since Iâm... still alive?â Her chuckle is forced, the smile on her face weary, tired. â... Iâve missed you. Both of you. So much. I donât know how long Iâve been gone, but... Iâm glad to see youâre both still alive.â
irksupremeâ:
Purple stares up at her for a moment, unblinking, until⊠oh!
Did his Tallest just SAY that? He really shouldnât be surprised (again, itâs Miyuki), but the prospect of being rewarded by her, with his favorite donuts (that sheâs going to try to REMEMBER) no less, makes him feel kind of importantâindividual, even.
Irkens are, it seems, a very reward-driven race. Purple is no exception.
âMy favorites are the plain old sugar rings. Easy to remember, right? You can write it down though. If you want.â
The stares are something sheâd never get used to - her fellow Irken always seemed so bewildered that their Almighty Tallest would show even the smallest kindness to them, but... Sheâd worked under previous Tallest. She always tried to be better, and always hoped that whoever would lead after her would be as kind as she always was,
âSugar rings... Iâll definitely remember that. Let me know when you and Red set off, and Iâll arrange a box of them to be waiting when you return. If you can... ask what Redâs favorites are too, okay?â
cosmiicbcrnâ:
She tilted her head. What an odd way to speak of her fellow Earthlings? Well, assuming she was indeed being honest about being of this world, which seemed less and less believable the more she listened to this woman speak.
So, of course Astra would inquire about her dubious origins. âMiss, are you sure you are not an off worlder, too? I will not tell the other humans if you are.â
Oh man she is so bad at this? Like the disguise is flawless, besides maybe her DNA, but sheâs awful at actually acting human under pressure? Pressure that sheâs putting on herself but. Pressure nonetheless.
Does she make an attempt to save this? To save this absolute shipwreck of a disastrous trainwreck???
â... Iâm an Irken.â Honestly sheâs better at giving up than she is pretending? âIâm also trying really hard to be a human, because this planet is really nice, and I donât want to leave, so... for all intents and purposes, Iâm human, okay?â
vortshipâ:
A shame, really. If Hal got to sit around on a ship all day commanding people, she figured she would order them all to bring her an endless supply of food and glitter (not necessarily in that order). She definitely wouldnât spend it on Vort talking to a bunch of no-fun-allowed school children.Â
âI dunno⊠that Massive thing theyâre building in there is gonna be pretty cool.â she thought back to the hologram the head scientist was showing off,Â
âI was only making fun of it for the banter.â a pleasant, albeit strained smile spread across her face, as though a ship alone would cause Miyuki to rethink her stance on being tallest.
Hal smirked at her next statement, a sound, almost like a scoff leaving her mouth as she shook her head. Automatically she assumed Miyukiâs words were some kind of joke.
âMe? Haha⊠nah, you donât know who I am or you wouldnât be saying that.â her smile became bitter, âHalinor Nima. Yeah⊠those Nimas.â although she hadnât met them yet. While Halâs mother didnât do much in the way of parenting, what she did do was make it absolutely clear Hal was to stay far from her father.
âIt wonât be cool. It will be a beacon of hatred, a destructive force the likes the universe has never seen, and all of the blood it spills will be on my hands.â Her tone is firm, but not directed at Hal - moreso directed at herself. Sheâs just letting them build the ship sheâd commissioned, the ship sheâd be stood in while it slaughtered trillions.
She glances down, claws tapping together almost nervously - she hated thinking about it.
âI clearly donât know who you are - nor who these... Nimas are. Should... should I? Iâve not listened to every briefing on the planet, so... Hm. No, it... To be yourself is to distance yourself from the actions of your kin. You speak of this Nimas as if theyâre bad, but... are you?â
cosmiicbcrnâ:
She truly hadnât expected such a reaction. Frankly, it was one of the strongest she had received in her time on Earth, for is seemed much of the planetâs population was simply to ignorant and unaware to notice her unearthly appearance. It was actually a rather refreshing reaction (aside from startling the woman into dropping her papers).
âSorry for the fright. I typically donât get such an abrupt reaction from people.â
âIt does seem that there are more than the last time I was here, thought that was ages ago. Have you encountered many others?â
âYou donât? I mean the humans around here are dense, but youâre hardly disguised, I-â Thereâs sort of a brief moment in which the cogs in Miyukiâs head grind together, before she realizes that yes, Miyuki is disguised.
â... Uh, I mean, the other humans. My fellow humans! Of which I am. Human. Ahem. Iâve um... Iâve met a few other aliens, yes.â
defenderofurthâ:
[Miyukiâs reaction to his vague allegations only bolstered his confidence â why would she be so apprehensive if those symbols werenât part of a tremendous, groundbreaking secret? Granted, he already realized that they were; if this language was revealed for what it was, and could be recognized as such by his peers, her identity would be exposed in mere seconds! If only humanity was capable of recognizing Irken languageâŠhe had a feeling that if he accused her, even after she wrote in those hieroglyphs, heâd simply be dubbed âinsane.â]
[Yet, her persistent anxiety caused him to wonder whether there might be another reason she was so fretful about her origins being revealed. She shouldâve been stranded here long enough to recognize how pathetic and ignorant humanity was as a species, right? If they couldnât see through Zimâs pitiful disguise by now, what did she have to worry aboutâŠ?]
[Regardless, when she opted to outright deny ever writing those symbols on the board, he simply quirked a brow â not owning up to her mistakes would be disastrous here, since Dib had all the proof he needed scribbled all over that paper. Those etches wouldnât be there if he didnât have a reference up on the board, would they? A smirk tugged at his lips when she desperately insisted that this was a misunderstanding; this was his moment, his opportunity to confront her.]
â â No, I think I know EXACTLY what this is. Iâve done my research, and I happen to know where that language comes fromâŠand more specifically, what PLANET. â [Dibâs dramatic revelation was out of the way, but now it was time to relentlessly interrogate her about her intentions hereâŠ] â Thatâs rightâŠI happen to know that those symbols are Irken. Youâre part of Zimâs race, arenât you? Why are you on Earth? Are you trying to conquer it, too? Are you with or against Zim? â
Why couldnât Dib be an idiot? Why couldnât be as blissfully unaware as every other human on this planet? Miyuki could just correct her mistakes without worrying about it, and go on with her life as a teacher without being terrified that the humans would drag her away and dissect her!
He figures it out all too quickly, and Miyuki feels her stomach(?) twist, pupils pinpricks as her throat goes dry - he knew everything. Knew what planet she was from, for goodness sake! All his fighting with Zim wasnât just because Zim was green, it was because Dib knew what the Irken race were...
âDib, you... I... Iâm not... not here to...â She knows what she wants to say, but it wonât come out, so she just... stands up straight, walks over to her desk, and grabs her chair, wheeling it over to Dib. Sitting down, she slumps, letting out a long, tired sigh.
âIâm not here to conquer Earth. Iâm not here to hurt anyone, Iâm just here to be... me.â A terrible thought to any Irken that wasnât defective. Why be you, when you can be a valuable tool to the armada? âIâm a defective. My programming doesnât work, so instead of wanting to serve the Empire, I just want to... get away from it. I just want to teach astronomy, to live life as... a human. Itâs peaceful.â
âI know you have no reason to trust me.â Sitting up, she pulls her legs up onto her chair, pulling her knees to her chest. No going back now. âIâm... Irken, I donât know why any race would trust me, but... I promise you, Iâm not the bad guy. Iâm just a lost soul from another world, trying her hardest to fit in, and just barely getting by. Iâm not with Zim, but Iâm not against him, either. As far as Iâm concerned, heâs just another student.â
greatandalmightyâ:
âUh, erâŠOF COURSE! Just give ZIM a minute! Iâve done a lot of talking today and my throat is a bit dry.â Is he coming up with an excuse? Certainly not. Heâs just speaking the truth!
âUntil then you must wait for such an incredible impression.â
âOh, I wouldnât dream of rushing you, Zim. Would you like something to drink, maybe? Iâm really getting excited to hear this, now.â Sheâs trying not to grin, but god this is too good.
âIâll just sit here and wait, hm? Give you all the time you need.â
aliiienationâ:
âMy Florpus!â And now heâs clung to her skirt, face buried into it.
âOh jeez- okay Zim, calm... calm down. You... you didnât mean, to, so itâs...â Itâs pretty bad? Well, pros and cons - pros: the Irken race no longer has two leaders, and the reassignment of a new Tallest was always a lengthy procedure. Cons... Miyuki always liked those two, even if they were pretty awful at the end. âTheyâre... in a... better place now?â
greatandalmightyâ:
Heâs trying desperately to shove the whole inflatable Miyuki back into his PAK but heâs not having much success at the moment. Antenna perk up as he hears the former tallest finally speak.
âI was but a smeet when I made this one! Zimâs incredible voice had yet to fully develop.â
Honestly, sheâs not sure why he hasnât just deflated it? Then again, this is Zim. Miyuki really ought to just... stop questioning anything he does.
âUh huh. So you could do a... perfect impression of me now? Accent and all?â
