@wasted-warrior
LOL.
My man Jesus
What story is that?
Matthew 18:9
“And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away.”
He also stopped a woman from being stoned because she was a prostitute and brought her into his inner circle. Some school of thought even claimed he married her.
Christianity is not aboout the wrong the person did. It’s about the human the person is.
hey this is a little bit random, but for those of you who may be going home to a religious homophobic family this Christmas, I want to share with you this incredible website GayChristian101.com
it’s a lot of reading, but I for one find it fascinating, and as a Christian it really put my mind at ease (and made me angry) to find out that every time the Bible says “homosexuality is a sin”, it’s a mistranslation. In context, the sin is not being gay, it’s idolatry. The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah wasn’t being gay, it was attempted rape.
Jesus himself very likely blessed a Roman centurion’s male lover, and when he spoke of “born eunuchs” it almost certainly referred to gay and/or asexual people. He didn’t say there was anything wrong with them.
King David, called a man after God’s own heart, adored Jonathan so deeply that when Jonathan was killed, David told everyone that the loved they shared had been delightful and wondrous, that it exceeded the love of his wives. The Bible says, “the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and he loved him as his own soul.” The Hebrew words used imply romantic love.
Contrary to what every Republican has ever said about ‘traditional marriage’, the church has a long tradition of same-sex marriage!
These are just a few pieces of the knowledge contained on that website, and I hope that it can give you both some peace and some ammunition to use against those homophobes who use twisted faith to justify their bigotry.
in case you’re curious but don’t want to do the reading:
during both the Old Testament and New Testament, it was a widespread practice for people to worship pagan gods by going to the god’s temple or shrine and having sex with the temple prostitutes, and it was usually homosexual sex. so when the Bible says things like “man shall not lay with man”, the context is “don’t have sex with the temple prostitutes, because you can’t follow God and worship pagan idols”. (fun fact: the Hebrew word translated as “sodomite” actually means “male temple prostitute”.) even anti-gay pastors will admit all this.
God had every opportunity to say “men shouldn’t love men and women shouldn’t love women”, but every single anti-homosexual statement in the Bible is a condemnation of idolatry, not being gay.
the two exceptions to that are:
a verse sometimes translated as condemning those “without natural affection”, which some people have taken to mean “without heterosexual affection”, but the Greek word literally means “lacking family love”, and a Greek word that never appeared in text prior to Paul’s usage of it, and despite the fact that this word is translated as “men who have sex with men”, its appearance in following historical texts is also used to refer to men with women, and it seems to mean “rapist”, not homosexual.
idk why people act like children need a two parent nuclear family to turn out okay as if the entire millenial generation wasnt raised by billie joe armstrong
the six types of gay songs
the song is explicitly about romantic love between two people of the same gender
the song does not contain explicitly gay lyrics, but is performed by a gay artist
the song is not sung by a gay artist, but the singer is of the same gender as the subject of the song and does not change the pronouns
the song is supposed to be about straight people but if you squint, the narrator is clearly in love with Jolene herself, come on
the song itself is ambiguous but the music video was extremely homoerotic
neither the lyrics nor the singer are gay but like, it’s just really catchy…
7. nothing about the song is gay in any way, but you associate it with your crush for some reason, so it’s basically a LGBTQ anthem
8. It’s 80’s synth pop
9. im gay and i like it
#10. hozier wrote it channelling the irish lesbian ghost who dwells within him
Daily reminder that Chance is my (second) favorite person in the world. (x)
I literally can’t get myself to sit through movies that don’t have women. I’m like where the fuck are the women? Why are there so many men? This is boring as fuck goodbye
Even if it’s historically accurate?
as everyone knows, women were invented in 1990
people: omg how are you single????
me *internally*: because i have deeply rooted emotional issues and a debilitating fear that im not good enough for anything
me: guess I just haven’t caught my fiSH yet! haha reel one in for me if you find one, sharon!!
This is still one of the best executed jokes I’ve ever seen

do not mistake my kindness for softness or weakness. i am a beam of light—that is, when i want to be. i’m a person you do not want to take for granted. when you hurt me, you hurt yourself.
